Re: Kenzo "King Kong"

Ok, I think that Kenzo-Jungle (the Elephant) is actually the rebirth of King Kong.

I mean I remember reading that King Kong didn't make it initially in the market, back when th designer wasn't THAT big and was discontinued, but years later Kenzo relaunched it under a different name and taking advantage of his brand's 90's success and made it just fine.

So, Jungle. (?) But hey, consider I might be wrong, but still I had to share that info since you asked.

Re: Kenzo "King Kong"

I'm so curious about it ...
I love the name, pure power!

Well, the notes seem to be different actually, i don´t know about that have to google to see. Actually one of the users have sent me an email writing that he/she has bought "King kong" and will post a reply later but so far no reacton. I guess i have to ask him/her whether it has arrived or not yet.
I am particulary curious about the banana note listed in "King kong". And the name is actually more like a name for men perfume http://www.fragrantica.com/board/img/smilies/tongue.png

Re: Kenzo "King Kong"

Hi, I have been never before at this forum.

Today we had a nice day, our daughter finished succesfully the university, we were shopping the dress for the degree ceremony in the afternoon - so it was the day full of memories. And a few minutes before my wife came to me with a little perfume bottle nearly empty and let me to smell ...

What a strong deja-vu !

Yes, it was original rest of King Kong perfume in the bottle ! Unbelievable, long years ago my wife left the rest of the perfume for "future memories".

And I turned on my computer and started to search, if there is not something changed, if there is not some second birth of this perfume. And i have found this thread and decided to write my memories  about KING KONG here.

:-)

Kenzo King Kong was 25 years ago the fragrance of our LOVE ! So dark + sweet + bitter + WILD fragrance was not at the market at all. And this has not changed yet ! I was absolutely fascinated with this fragrance, as I remember, when I smelled to my girl, I fell in love like if I was falling from Empire State Building. This was really MAGIC fragrance.

As my wife later told me, the effect was the same for any other boy who tried to catch her  before she met me ... they had NO CHANCE :-)

And so was it with me ! Yes, you have to take it togeter with the beauty of my wife, of course. But I really loved this fragrance, it was so unchained, so adventurous, so colorful - it is hard for me to describe it with my poor english, but I I thing it was without a doubt ingenious. It knocked me down everytime.

So, we were both very sad when we recognized, that there is no more possibility to buy this perfume ... and my wife stored the rest of it in the last perfume bottle, so we were able in the future to remember from time to time how it was smelling. I tried from times to times to find similar perfume, we tried new perfumes from Kenzo, but no one is the same ! Jungle i have bought years ago, but it is a different kind of perfume - i some way similar, but definitely not the same.

So, this is the story. And in the perfume bottle there is year after year less and less of our KING KONG "memories maker" - it wears off in some way.

Really, I miss this perfume and hope Kenzo will get sometimes back to the beginning (for me it would be enough if they coud make just ONE perfume bottle only for me - for next 25 years again PLEASE http://www.fragrantica.com/board/img/smilies/smile.png)

What a wonderful, lovely and romantic story!!  I wish they would re-create the scent just for you!

To splash007-I 've had  similar experiences revisiting memories over the last bottle of Joy and Coty Chypre.
But your story is so romantically sweet.  Thanks for sharing it. http://www.fragrantica.com/board/img/smilies/39.gif
