Topic: Perfume and matching body lotion.

Hi my lovely friends. superglad  I was wondering if you ever use a matching body lotion of the perfume that you're wearing.  Do you purchase often the gift sets which  include the lotions?

Personally i have bought in the past only the body lotion from Prada but not the perfume and it was amazing i've to say...http://www.echemist.co.uk/productmedia/prada-infusion-d-iris-hydrating-body-lotion.jpg

You only live ONCE...

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I have decided that any new scents I buy will be in mini or swap. If I love it I will then try and buy it in the gift sets. The bottles are often smaller and you can try the lotion/body wash for the same price as the perfume. I recently just did that with flowerbomb. For the price of a larger bottle of flowerbomb I got a 1oz EDP, lotion, body wash, and hair mist (which seems like an odd project).

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

If it's a scent I LOVE, I will usually buy the matching body lotion and shower gel. Not always in a gift set though...often separately.

For ones I like but not love, I don't usually get the matching body products.

Occasionally I just buy a body lotion or shower gel, but not the perfume.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I don't buy them but get them often as gifts.  I use them separately because the "matching" soaps, lotions, etc... really don't match very well.  At least not the fragrances I like.

They are all except Aura packed with plant extracts and base oils, and therefore great skin care.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I have perfume with body lotion (and shower gel) for the following scents in my collection:

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.669.jpg Lacoste Lacoste Pour Femme

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.253.jpg Calvin Klein Euphoria

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.1607.jpg Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean

I have lotion and perfume for the following:

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.248.jpg Calvin Klein Obsession

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.81.jpg Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue

I found out that lotion helps longevity of the scent and makes it creamier, more natural, or softer. It cuts the sharp notes out.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I usually don't because I have incredibly dry skin and those lotions don't do much for me anyway but I have matching body lotions for a couple of fragrances:

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.4920.jpg Laura Biagiotti Venezia Pastello

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.707.jpg Thierry Mugler Alien

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.7972.jpg The Body Shop White Musk Breeze

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.5806.jpg Kenzo Kenzo Amour Florale

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.3795.jpg David & Victoria Beckham Signature for Her

I don't spend that much money on perfumed body lotions, especially as a greasy body butter does a lot more for my skin and my perfume's sillage but I am more or less pleased with the lotions to the fragrances listed above. The Beckham Signature shower gel and lotion are fabulous products and I highly recommend trying them if you like the scent.

I ended up with matching body products because I always buy plenty of reduced price gift sets on Boxing Day. Up to 50% off of the regular price for the fragrance... PLUS a nice gift for free. superglad

The best body products in my opinion are Boots Sanctuary products. That may be because they are meant to be home spa products. The do have a line of fragrances as well.
This morning I actually opted for the creamy shower gel and the divine bosy souffle before I doused myself in the matching perfume:

Member nyoka once came up with a brilliant idea:

Take some unscented lotion and mix it with your perfume - this will create the ideal base for killer sillage and longevity!

Good luck!

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

Chanel No 5 Velvet Body Creme is wonnnnnnnnderful! I've not tried the lotion, but the body creme is out of this world great. Have not tried the body creme in Coco, but would like to.

Paloma Picasso body lotion is very true to the original scent and I like it very much.

Silences has a nice body lotion, although it is not quite true, it is not "off", either, like Kiku mentioned upthread.

Clarins Eau Dynamisante body lotion is very true to the original.

Aromatics Elixir has a good body creme, not quite as sharp as the juice, but many people prefer it for that reason.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I used to use the matching lotions, and would purchase a perfume if it had one included in a gift set. However, I find that they really don't make much a difference in moisture or in the staying power (on me at least) of the fragrance, so I don't bother anymore.

The only lotion that has managed to win me over slightly is Lolita Lempicka Lolita Lempicka.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I love having the matching body products (particularly the lotion/creme) to my perfumes. Like someone else mentioned above, lotion does make scent creamier and less sharp. In most cases it elongates my scent by hours. For this reason all my Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret perfumes have matching body products, including the mists.

Some perfumes I bought in gift set to get lotion and/or wash/purse spray:

Perfumes will be assimilated.  Resistance is futile.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

These body lotion are fabulous to wear on their own, just for the scent:

I also love these B&BW lotions for the scent and moisturization:

No 5 Velvet Body Creme is so wonderful!  It smells amazing and lasts forever.  The rose and sandalwood in the cream is beautiful!  Mix a few dabs with unscented body cream and you get scent for 12+ hours...that's how I justify the crazy price tag on the body creme.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I use fragrance free lotions as a rule, but have had http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.209.jpg Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Rodriguez For Her edt lotion. It's absolutely beautiful. tummenupp

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I have about 5-6 matching lotions with different fragrances.....but to be honest, I don't see any difference in sillage or longevity, whether i apply perfume on the matching lotion or just a regular scent-free lotion. So I don't waste any money on perfumed lotions anymore.

Re: Perfume and matching body lotion.

I don't like the lotions that come with the fragrances as much as my favorite unscented one.
