Topic: New signature frag for a nurse

i am an RN, working very closely with my patients.  I am looking for a long-lasting frag with a light but definite sillage.  I dislike powdery, vanilla-based scents.  Loove patchouli in the base notes. Any suggestions?

Re: New signature frag for a nurse

I work with the elderly at an assisted living community and do CNA type work. I can't go without my perfume...it sets my mood for the day! So, I pick lighter scents (and apply less) on the days I work. Here are some suggestions:

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.2168.jpg Yves Rocher Neonatura Cocoon

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.818.jpg Burberry Burberry Women

These are all long lasting...but not overpowering. The neonatura has a wonderful patchouli-vanilla combo that I think you'll love!

As another RN, dare I mention that you shouldn't really be wearing perfume at work.

Sorry.

This is ideal for the workplace because it smells subtle, clean (as if you've just freshly showered!), creamy and it lasts for hours without needing to top up!

As yet another RN, I love wearing perfume at work. I'm new to Fragrantica (from Basenotes) and am posting some of my previously written reviews here. I'll try to find some where I refer to work and post them sooner.  The RN/perfume issue comes up fairly often and we each come to our own conclusions.

Hi and Welcome!

Sensuous was the first one that popped into my head.

I had surgery recently, and not only would I not be bothered by a nurse wearing perfume, I would like it!   I suppose I'm biased, but I honestly think that any scent should be acceptable, as long as it's not applied with a heavy hand.

I would think it would be okay to smell of  a bit of something, as opposed to having to smell like nothing.

I would hope  it would be the rare person who would object to that. tummenupp

Oh, I thought of another one.

This has nice patchouli.

Re: New signature frag for a nurse

I was visiting a family relative in the ICU who was pretty drugged up on pain meds and the first thing he said to me was: 'You smell very nice.'

I was wearing Eau Claire des Merveilles. http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Herm … -9583.html

It has medium silage and is very long lasting. 2 sprays is enough for it to last me all day. It has a bit of vanilla but it is very dry. It is a comforting and attractive scent.

I know you asked for patchouli but as many people dislike it and you work  closely with patients, I would not recommend it.

Good luck on your search! glad

I am not picky, just discerning.

Re: New signature frag for a nurse

I worked as a CNA for a short time years ago and they requested no one wear perfume. I could not abide completely, however. I chose to wear Nivea body lotion. If you have never tried it, the scent is awesome. I applied it to my upper arms and stomach so the scent carried nicely wthout being offensive. Nivea also makes heavier cream type body products and those would have an even longer lasting scent. I would think any scented lotion would be more subtle than a perfume, so you could just use the lotion to your favorite scent.

I am a big fan of Degree deodorant and the companion body spray called Classic Romance. This would be a nice option too. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTkJp0uI2UVPmaQCM54NxQ4QBRjR-pCewLFYa6VMJBPsmFJOc5q4Q

Re: New signature frag for a nurse

My mother worked as a NA, and always got complimented on her White Musk. I think she was wearing the Body Fantasies one. White musks are safe, and since you like patchouly, I'd recommend http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.4814.jpg Etro New Tradition

This one is good, and it is "flying under the radar".  Fresh, subtle, full and long lasting.  A tiny spritz and you are comfortable with the patients, and more of the gorgeous aroma when you go out with friends.

Just because COACH is mainly known for handbags does not mean they cannot have nice perfumes.

As yet another RN, just spray lightly whatever you choose.

Re: New signature frag for a nurse

i was hospitalized last year and i do remember how nautious made me feel the perfume of a nurse ...it was way too strong ,i think it should have been  something like midnight poison  -very strong  on patchouli ...

you may like patchouli but try not to wear any patchouli scent in hospital...

If you need to wear something you may wear a fresh cologne or a skin scent  glad
