Chanel Coco......Noir!?
When, Where, How, Who, What!!! Think my brain just threw a rod! PLEASE... Great Perfume Goddess.... don't let this disappoint. Can it possibly live up to what my mind is creating in it's ornate silver cauldron?

That's my exact thought! I don't even dare to hope for something as amazing as I imagine it to be
Hi Killercolours,
What I found:
'Official confirmation coming from Chanel. Coco Noir is a new perfume launching in Augstus 2012, an oriental poised between the classic 'Coco' and the lighter, very popular 'Coco Mademoiselle'.
'COCO NOIR is described as a dark, deep, mysterious and adventurous composition which is quite the reason for rushing to your nearest retail to grab your bottle. The original COCO CHANEL fragrance was launched in 1984 has a Spicy Oriental aroma created by Jacques Polge became a household name just as much as Chanel No.5
Recently there has been a rash of darker note scents on the market with the impact of agar wood “oud” fragrances that lead the pack. I look forward to more darker scents that replicate the scents of ancient perfumery.'
This is how the bottle should look like.
If even Chanel starts to use oud, it's official: Arabian ouds now an accepted fully fledged fragrance note in western fragrances. (Udaria, you are a true perfume visionary!). And heavier scents are definitely the oncoming trend in Europe and the USA will maybe follow.
Killercolours, I hope this wets your appetite even more! Still about a month to go, about 30 sleepless nights.
And if you hunt it down, I count on a detailed review here on Fragrantica.
I hope you enjoy it.
Hope this helps.
Nopasho.

So excited for this one!
Jacqueline posted earlier with a link detailing notes etc. http://www.fragrantica.com/board/viewtopic.php?id=40356
Ohhhh! NIIIICE! Can't wait to test it!
Oh my goodness, THOSE NOTES!!!! I can't wait! My favorite color!
Hi Killercolours,
What I found:
[...]
Thank you so much Nopasho, you're always so kind and helpful.
Oh you know it, I will hunt this baby down for sure, sniffed or not. You did, of course not, calm my nerves at all..
It sounds like the true meaning of a "panty dropper" (yes, I just used the forbidden expression!), that is me lonely with miss Coco Noir and some panties dropping.
Haha no but seriously, I'm hyping. Oh, how I'm hyping! Be mine!
This looks really interesting. I'll be interested in sniffing this out.
Oh my... I had no idea Chanel is putting out another Coco! I am excited too!
Cant wait to give this one a sniff!
Coco Noir!!!
O......M......G!!!! Sounds sexxxxxxy!!! *bow-chicky-wow-wow/ bow-chicky-wow-wow* LOL
Notes:
I'm sorry but I don't find anything "noir" about this fragrance.
I think it's just an ordinary modern chypre.

We shall see once we catch the first sniff. As we all know notes can be blended very well and can smell nothing like we think. I didn't really like that person's description of it that's sniffed it but I'm definitely excited

Between the killer black bottle and the "Noir" I expected something more, like more spicy, dark, smokey and maybe a resin or latex.

that's what I thought when I read the notes too
hopefully it's not another Chanel I'm anosmic to.
Well, let's hope that it will have a really heavy dose of patchouli and roses, jasmines are from Grasse. At lease it can be somewhere between
Jean Patou Joy and
L Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses
But actually, I do hope that it has leather & oud.
My suggestion

Hmmm..... I'll be waiting....
I asked the SA in the Chanel department and as far as she knew it would be released in week 34 but there was no exact date yet.
Coco Noir - Huhhh? How did that one get past me? Coco is my cool weather signature and so when it's released I'll be camping out overnight on the doorstep of the perfumery for the store to open. The bottle looks a bit Fracas-ish. Just when I thought I had all my favourites in my collection I get hit with another new one to explore. Will it ever end???
Can't wait to test it! I always wanted something between Coco and Mademoiselle - my dream cames true?

My thoughts exactly. A list if notes doesn't always say everything, or much, about a perfume. It's more about the execution. I will definitely test it. I hope to be pleasantly surprised after the Eau Premiere letdown.

I look forward to testing at the first opportunity, but it will be with curiosity rather than excitement after seeing these notes.
