Re: Alkemia Perfume Oils
Wichapi, Thomasania, thank you for your response
but I am asking not for longevity, but about sillage
Cause, in my experience (Pumpkin strumpet, Autumn, Vixen, Trick or Treat, Moss maiden, Davil's dandy, Highwayman, Corsair, Offering and Ghost Fire), none of them make the sillage that I expected. The Oil fixative doesn't change anything - maybe my skin is dry and drinks the oils, or maybe is because of the chemistry.
I admit, these perfume oils have very good longevity on me. After couple of hours, I still can sniff the aroma on my wrist. But I can't go all day long with my nose on my wrists.
When I first read about perfume oils, I read that they are way better than supermarket perfumes. The oils blend into the skin, and then it started radiate aroma through the skin. The post is here. I loved the idea so much, but now i am kinda disappointed. I wanted a scent, which lingers after me like a trail, and everybody recognize it's me.
Maybe, the scents I tried, are not, what I am looking for. So, I asked you which Alkemia oils are the sillage monsters, to try them, before giving up of the whole idea of aroma oils.
I am marking Blackberry Noir, Hex, and Deadly Nightshade for test, thank you, Wichapi, for your recommendation
Thomasania, which ones do you recommend for best sillage of all you mentioned?
Ok let me think, I am in the Alkemia Camp in that I haven't found any I least didn't like and there are several I simply love. As far as which one are sillage monsters, I don't know where to point you to. When I think of sillage monsters I think of a lot of vintages I own, Tabu, Ciara, White Diamonds, more modern sillage monsters are Angel and Alien and Cafe and etc... I don't know that oils leave a trail the same way as the ones I mentioned above. However, I do feel that some do offer a more natural sillage. Sucumbus, Arabesque, Patchouil Lovers, Vixen, Farkas all have a decent or above average sillage IMO. I am sure there are more.
I often layer them with my traditional perfumes and it is adds to the depth and complexity of the perfumes. So maybe you can try layering them with other perfumes, or add them to an unscented lotion, or simply wear more of the perfume oil.
I doubt this help, but I would suggest that you continue to try them out. You may find one you absolutely love.
