If I buy all the Serge Lutens perfumes to compare I'd be in the poorhouse LOL
I've smelled and worn quite a few S.L. fragrances. I'm not a big fan of florals so I'll recuse myself from the category.
IMO, the best Serge Lutens fragrances are Ambre Sultan and Chergui.
This is a toughy! SL is so versatile, and his perfumes could be vastly different from each other. If you cannot go to a counter, perhaps you can order some samples?
Having said that, here are my current favorites from this house:
Many thanks to all!
And another question- which of them is sweet?

Serge Lutens Douce Amere is really sweet.

In my opinion, the best Serge Lutens isBois de Violette...I like violet a lot and it's hard to find a true violet fragrance.
I'm not a big fan of serge lutens perfumes.
the only one I really like is fleurs d'oranger, my holiday perfume, I'm at the second bottle, but since my mother uses it more often, even off-holidays, I started asociating this with her, so it's kinda... makes me think of something else than it should now, so... don't know if I'll use it on holidays anymore.
Plus, it's difficult for me to get, order it from overseas or so, pay too much for shiping... not worth it, I think. Same with samples. Order a bunch of samples than pay for shiping almost more (or more) than the parcel itself costed.Did that few times, and it's not worth it, definetly not worth it. Very bad deal. I think I'll only get more if when traveling I'll happen to see it is shops.
Serge Lutens Chergui (very sensual this one)
P.S.-and I don't like (ok... "I wouldn't wear the following masterpieces that are not made to smell pleasent") Muscs K.K.(veeery stinky), Ambre Sultan (foodish),and I find Sa Majeste la Rose an insult for all the beautiful rose frags out there. Some might take it as a standard imagine and term of comparison, but it smells more like dish washing liquid.

I HATE SL Arabie, but adore LOUVE!!!!! Sa majeste la rose is a really nice one, pure rose, in a classic way, Louve smells to me soo much like bitter almond!
have any of you tried this one yet? I recently ordered a sample. I have a feeling it might be a little stinky-sweet- it'll be fun to find out!
I'm not a great fan of SL, but my favourite ones are:
I still have to test Miel de bois.
I just smelled my first SL:
and it's fantastic! Probably the best of the 8 decants from various houses that I ordered-
Serge Lutens Arabie I haven't tested them all yet. But the one I *really really* LOVE is ARABIE. It's actually one of my "TOP 5"-faves of all my perfumes!
Also Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque
and Serge Lutens Cedre on 3'rd place so far.
And if you want to try a real magnificant true ROSE, go with:
Serge Lutens Sa Majeste la Rose this one will knock you out to rose-heaven
I've tried it and I like it!
