question about miss dior cherie new version (Page 1 of 2)

Hi,
I don't think you have the new version for the simple reason that the new EDP came out in 2011, unless they did a different bottle for the previous version. But the only EDP of Miss Dior Cherie I know (I've had it too) looks exactly like the second picture you've posted, with the name written directly on the surface.
Is it possible that you have the EDT instead? Dior Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Toilette 2010

Hi Tommy_girl, actually they changed the outfit of the original MDC few years back, I think it was 2008. So if you bought yours a year ago it is the original one (with the white labels!). There will be a lot of confusion from now on with the new 2011 version because the bottle is the same, the name has not changed and only the juice inside is different (which I think is unfair for the lovers of the original, many might not be aware of replacing lovely MDC with the new one)

why they have made the exact bottle with a different smelling?it's getting too complicated,because there are lots of miss dior cherie versions with very similar bottles.

Yes, I'd really like to know too, what exactly is the difference between the previous bottle and the new one?
They seem to be identical., or almost identical... How can one tell?

I have the exact same bottle and box. Mine is the edp and it is the old version (strawberries, caramelized popcorn etc), and not the new 2011 'grown up' version.

The bottle with the silver writing with notes of strawberries, camramelized popcorn etc is the 2005 version.

Then around 2007/2008 they changed the bottle to the white label. Maybe because this was cheaper to make than the silver writing (who knows?). But kept the same notes.

Now (2011)... they have kept the white label but changed the notes.

I hope this clears up some confusion

the confusion is all clearedit's cool to know every other single woner of MDC has the same bottle.

I am completely confused.  I have a bottle from two and a half years ago, maybe 3 years now and it has the light pink lable on it.  it's the edp, but I'm not certain which formula it is.  Is it the 2005 formula with the metal writing with a different bottle?

I've gone to the sites and I'm still confused on which juice I have.  I only know for certain it's not the 2011 MDC.

I'm looking for the pop-corn/strawberry version EDP and struggling to find it.  Someone on this thread mentions about an expiration date being helpful in identifying the old and the new version.  Can someone tell me where the expiration date is located?

Is there a way to tell the new from the old version in testers? 

I ordered one off ebay and it was a complete fake.  Other ebay sellers are willing to help me identify the old version, if I tell them how to because they dont know how to tell either.

Thanks for replying tommy_girl!  I should've explained that I want the 2005-version.  I tried the 2011 version and I didnt like it.

I tried ordering the 3.4 oz etched cursive letters off ebay a few days ago, but it turned out to be a replica/fake.  The cap did not have CD on top, the sprayer did not say CD on top, the bow was golden and plastic, the lid did not close well, the glass at the top of the bottle was not smooth, the box said "made in Erance" instead of France, the etching seemed faded.  I told the ebay seller that this was a fake and, although she is willing to refund me the money, she is "sure" it is not a fake and that she buys it wholesale to be able to sell cheaper (I paid her $75 for it).

I found other ebay sellers, some of which are selling testers, and some of which dont know if they have the original version or the 2011 version.  Other than buying and sniffing and return (some dont accept refunds) I dont know how to help them identify if they have the new or old version.  One of them gave me the item number (3348900661011), but I dont know if Dior used the same item number on both the old and the new version. Do you know?

Someone here mentioned an expiration date may tell you info, but I don't know if the expiration date is on the box or the actual bottle.  Do you know?

Also, do you know how to tell versions from testers?

You have to purchase 1.7 oz or 1 oz.  Big bottles are
Usually fake or its hard to tell who is selling authentix ones.
The labels and the shape of bottle seem to be differenr with
The older bottles and also de bow seems different to me.

This is correct.  I bought MDC when it was first released, and mine has the silver writing on it.  They didn't change the bottle for years...and I don't know what happened other than when I tried the newest version, it smelled nothing like the one I have, which def has strong strawberry.
