Topic: Please Help-A Balmy Summer Perfume

I'm always surprised that everyone says balmy perfumes are for Autumn & Winter. To me the mild and calming effect of resins ( particularly elemi) are very summery-a bit like that feeling you get after having a tepid shower after a sweaty hard day at work on a hot summer day.

Any ideas for balmy summer fragrances as I'm looking for a summer signature at the moment.

I don't like sharp smells, earthy smells or anything overly flowery.

Thankyou.

Re: Please Help-A Balmy Summer Perfume

Thanks,guys.

The DSquared one sounds like it might fit the bill.

I've just been having a look at fresh laundry fragrances. This may be what I'm after. You know when you have an exact smell in your "mind's nose" and you've got to have THAT and that alone?(maybe that's just me)

Cucumber, watermelon, black tea, elemi resin, fresh laundry is the kind of thing I've got in my "mind's nose" but those notes/accords might not necessarily be listed for it,so I need the benefit of your collective orifactory experience.

High maintenance,I know.Sorry.

Re: Please Help-A Balmy Summer Perfume

I tried a CK One summer edition a few years ago and loved it..it did have all the elements I'm looking for right now.Not sure if it was 2008 but it could easily have been.Unfortunately,I "missed the train" there as it's hard to get hold of now.

All the other suggestions-thanks,folks,but they all sound either too sweet/spicy/citrus/chypre/busy(?)

Re: Please Help-A Balmy Summer Perfume

Has anyone ever tried this?

http://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.8649.jpg CB I Hate Perfume Russian Caravan Tea

Sounds like it might be what I'm after, but it lists lemon as a note ( might be sharp?) and doesn't list balmy as an accord, although I've always thought black tea is a balmy aroma.

Any thoughts?

Don't mean to derail the thread but this is back in L'Occitane stores so you can now buy it easily again.  I bought a bottle the other week in my local shop.

I'm dying to try this one,It sounds heavenly. But not what I want on this occasion.I'm thinking it sounds too warm, spicy and wintery.I might send for a sample of this in about 6 months time.

it brings a little cucumber and watermelon in my nose ,its fresh ,not citrously sour, not very flowery.I would say its transparently balmy!!I m not sure if you find it sharp ,but I quess that depends on your skin.

This sounds promising. It's got a lot of floral notes ( not a big fan of floral generally) but a lot of them are gentle, mild flowers like camomile.

Sounds good..I'll give that one a try tummenupp

OH NO!! va

I bought a bottle of this once before while looking for a summer perfume ( out of desparation after spending hours trawling round department stores)

It has a repellant "dirty" smell that makes me feel like I want to take a shower.
