Topic: Cheap cologne that you love anyway
I have several colognes and after shaves that smell great to me, but are too cheap to be listed in the data base, actually too cheap to put in a glass bottle. Maybe I like them because I like barbershop scents, or maybe there is something wrong with my nose. But here are some of my favorites:
Pinaud/Clubman scents are a guilty pleasure. My favorite is Coachman, which retails for less than $1/ounce. A few drops last the whole day. I also like Pinaud After Shave and Special Reserve cologne. Not all of their scents are gems though, many in their line are downright nasty.
Bay rum is fleeting, but I love it any way: Superior 70 comes from puerto rico and a 12 ounce bottle will cost you $7. Ogallala (apparently some guy in Nebraska distills it in his basement) makes a variety of sweet bay rums that are wonderful before bedtime. Dominica bay rum is a step up (you can tell because it comes in a glass bottle) that smells like the leaves have been fresh picked. I also love CO Bigelow 1401 Bay Rum aftershave balm, which I use like a hand lotion.
Old spice is another favorite, but I don't dare wear it in public.
What are your cheap cologne favorites? I'd love to find some other guilty pleasures.
