Topic: aveda chakras

Hi there i am thinking about buying something from the aveda chakra range. any suggestions?

Re: aveda chakras

I went to the Aveda store open mindedly to sample their scents, expecting to fall in love....but I didn't. I didn't like their perfumes enough to consider buying, so be sure to test before you buy.

Re: aveda chakras

Have they brought those perfume oils back? I thought they discontinued them long ago. I have the complete set of Aveda chakra scents mini-bottles in a nice metal box, but haven't used them for years.

I don't think any of the local Aveda shops carry any sort of perfume, at least they didn't last time I was in one.

Are you just getting one for the scent itself or are you looking for a specific aromatherapy benefit?

I really like #4 for relaxing, calming, and centering myself, particularly at bedtime. I have wore it during the day when I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious about something. It's a good idea to smell them before you buy if you have a chance...

Re: aveda chakras

Thankyou for the advice. I suffer with anxiety so that might be a good choice for me.

Well, don't worry, you're not suffering alone. I also have bouts with anxiety as well. I do use this scent (#4) frequently when I am dealing with situations that make me feel anxious or when I am having trouble winding down and getting to sleep.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll find one you love!

My husband and I have the full collection of Aveda Chakra body sprays, and we find #4 is excellent for inducing feelings of harmony and contentment!

Specifically, we use Chakra spray 4 to scent our vehicles when we (ourselves) or our passengers are prone to road-rage or aggressive feelings.  It is amazing how well it works.

I am also prone to anxiety, and for that I find Chakra Spray 1 to be the most effective at calming me down and grounding me, but it is so effective for me that it makes me sleepy!  So my husband and I use it to spray in the air right before bedtime.  It really works on him too!  In the past, he has emphatically announced he is NOT TIRED.  But about 5 minutes after I spray Chakra 1, he is in bed with the covers pulled all the way up!

One last note on the Chakra Sprays...to me, they DO NOT smell nice.  They don't smell like perfume at all.  They smell THERAPEUTIC, and very intense.  They are each a combination of 3 essential oils which have been targeted for their therapeutic effect on specific chakral areas.

I use them as therapy scents in the air, depending on which chakra I feel may be out of alignment, rather than spraying them on my body, since I don't like the way they smell on my skin.  You may find they work differently for you!

But I have also seen the Pure-fume Spirit sprays at my local Aveda stores (although not available online).  The testers for those are usually tucked in a back corner on top of a table, in the form of small brown glass vials, waiting to be mixed into a 10ml spray atomizer.  You can ask for a tour of the scents.  I think there are about 18 of them total???  Those are definitely constructed as perfumes, but they are more natural, so they wear differently than department store perfumes.  Definitely try before you buy!!!
