Topic: Do guys like nailpolish in weird colours on girls?
Hi there! I have a dilemma. I love light blue nail polish on me, but I think it repulses men. What is do you all think about this?

BONJOUR.I can not imagine how good or not light blue would be on you.But black is definitely not a good option.
Just to show you how widely divergent men's opinions are, the light blue can be good (depending on outfit/eye color), but the black is ALWAYS good.
Yep, men are not all the same person, and they don't all have the same tastes. If you wear what appeals to YOU, you're more likely to attract like-minded men.
Who cares what they think! Be yourself, wear what you love -- and you will attract someone who is attracted to you and not some image you're presenting.

@ tigerhearted, agree,

My X ( for a good reason) once mentioned blue on a mutual acquaintance nails.." It says so much about her." in this VERY sarcastic, condescending tone..I was like ''What exactly does it say?" I guess he thought the color immature. so I think men definitely look at nail polish. I've also met guys who hated all nail polish....but see I'm giving you creepy guy opinions, I'm sure plenty of cool guys would love light blue nail polish!
I think you should wear it on your toes tho! i think neon colors are so fun on toes too..
Last season I bought a Chanel vernis in that famous gray-greenish shade that everybody thought of as being so cool and I was extremely happy with it until I asked Mr Kristal about it and told me that dead bodies nails develop this colour a few days after death ...
Needless to say I couldn't put it on anymore, even if I liked it a lot, and finally gifted it to a friend. The "dead nails" were there deep in my mind every time I was trying to putt it on !
Maybe it's not a good idea to ask men all the time. If I hadn't force him to deliver his oppinion about the Nails of the Dead I would have used it and, out of courtesy, he wouldn't have said a word. It ruined it forever !
"Nails of the Dead", lol! I sort of suspected that some guys see odd colours as death-like and creepy, which is why I was worried.

I think some guys do see 'fun' colours on nails as immature. Another reason I was worried.
I kind of suspect that guys really don't like nail polish on women at all. I hate being judged by them on silly little things like that, like it's a big deal. It's really just about fashion, after all. I still feel like I have to save the weird colours for later, when they know me better. So annoying...

Lol! Men aren't all the same person! That's true.

That's true, but we're all presenting a bit of an image to the opposite sex at first, and we want it to be a good one. The problem is that I'm complex, and I have different sides, so I don't want to be judged on ONE side, if you see what I mean. I like wild nails, but I"M not wild. And I'm wondering if guys associate blue nails with death and decay, or something.
But I think you're right, and one should be oneself.

Wow, a guy that likes black nail polish! You're very fashion-forward!

Well, light blue is my colour, so it's pretty good on me. I guess black is too decay-like for you?
BONJOUR.I do not like dark colors such as black, purple, etc on nails.

Perhaps, but the image I had of a girl that wears black nailpolish also involves purple-streaked hair and a corset.
And some guys like "colors of the dead" on girls because they hail from the sombre, moody, gothic side of things, so your mileage will vary.

I don't think men care at all tbh. In fact I think they'd like the fact that you were manicured to begin with no matter the color.
and if you're with a man who makes a big fuss and makes you feel undesirable because of your nailcolor
then he is not worth your time
I know my other half loves 'weird' nail color, metallic silver and gold, black, sparkles....but I love a classic color in a great manicure.
I love light blue, too!
I have 3 nail polishes in light blue colours
I've read that most men like dark colours on toe nails (for example bright red) and light colours on finger nails (for example some nude tones).

This is SO TRUE.
I love light blue, too!

Generally, yes, but I really think it depends on the clothes/hair/eye to work well. For instance, if a woman wore a nearly floor-length sea-foam green dress with open-toe heels, and sand-brown accessories, seashell earrings, you get the picture -- dark toenails would contrast way too much.

Hello, my fellow light blue lover! I think it looks so feminine and elegant. Like blue satin. I will continue to wear it, and to hell with what guys think!

I agree that a guy shouldn't criticize a woman's nail polish colour. That would be an attempt to make her feel insecure, I think.

Can you explain what you don't like about them? Just curious.
