To feel good within myself. Sometimes the scent will just make me feel happy, warm, refreshed etc.. or bring back good memories.
Another reason is to 'complete' an outfit.
Also I will admit that I do wear it to impress & attract on occasion too.

Okay I think I have a answer for myself to this question since it was buging me a bit so I came to the conclusion that I wear cologne/perfume because I want to smell good. Wow even though that really simple statement which I still am not one hundred percent. Its the best I could come up with and the only thing that makes perfect sense to me right now. So thank you everyone for commenting and making me think more about I love fragrances.

PerfumesI think it's because it is a powerful reminder of all the glorious beauties of creation. Perfume attempts to replicate many of the scents we enjoy....flowers, ocean, mountain air, fresh fruits, spices, etc. I can't personally carry all these natural scents with me at all times, but I can bring a small bottle and spray myself with a nice "beachy" fragrance or perhaps a nice portable flower garden. Fragrances more or less transport me to these location, and it makes me happy to remember them this way.

Reading between lines, many here are addicted to boost their personality, confidence or ego with cologne or perfume. Just like that some need alcohol just to be social.
I now people that cant walk out the door without sprayin something on theme, like many girls that cant do anything without makeup...I´m not a shrink so i can only describe what i see, but i think its sad.
In my case i wear cologne so i dont have to change my underwear so often... 
I enjoy it like food or music, it's simple consumption. It covers up the stink of the city and works as some kind of aroma therapy (refreshing/soothing, etc).
I don't assume or expect it to smell wonderful to others as most of the time I find perfume that I encounter on other people annoying, with the odd exception. It has basically become a battle of perfumes and everybody reeks of something else that they have over applied.

PerfumesI wear perfumes because I am thrifty. One $50 give or take a few bucks, lasts for years.
I also love beautiful things ie chandeliers, antique furniture, conifers, decorative glass, and of course perfume.
I'm not much of a fashion plate, but with fragrance, I can be in style without being a clone.
PerfumesThe reason I've always worn colognes,and I've been wearing colognes since junior high school, is because I love the way they make me smell and feel,you must wear cologne for YOU first,because you LOVE it,not solely because someone wants you to wear it.Oh yeah GUERLAIN rules!!!!!!!! PerfumesYes colognes are addictive,and yes I am a "COLOGNE ADDICT",and pretty proud of it.
For me, it's all about expression. What perfume best expresses the way I feel at that moment. It's no different than choosing what clothes I'm going to wear, how I'm going to style my hair, apply my cosmetics, etc.. But don't get me wrong, even if I'm sitting in my bathrobe, I smell fantastic.
PerfumesIt's not to smell good, as my favorite fragrances are all relatively "dirty." I really just enjoy perfumery as an art and I love to experience it again and again. It's like having a collection of LPs, only fragrance develops slowly over 2-24 hours depending on the fragrance.
Fragrances enhance my mood and create an aura of "otherness and elsewhere" that transports me from where I am and what I'm doing to places that exist only in my imagination.
When I worked in offices in close proximity to coworkers and clients I wore my more "polite" fragrances. Now that I work in an Amazon dot com warehouse (no longer a temp, I'm an Amazonian now - yay!) I wear whatever I want, even the "Big Stinkers" (i.e., TF's White Patchouli and Balmain's Carbonne) and my 10-hour shift just flies by.
Fragrances make me feel like my best self and yes, going unfragranced would make me feel incomplete, if not naked.

PerfumesIt makes me feel confident, and is a part of my daily routine.
First off for the scrumptious cloud I inhabit when I wear it. Second for the glamour of it all. All the rest, complements and so on is icing on the cake.

When I wear a fragrance th aroma transports me to another place, with woodsy mossy fragrances I envision a run throught a dark forest, or with sophisticated fragrances I envision myself in an elegant setting where all eyes are on me. Fragrances give me precious moments when I smell the aroma they have hidden in there contents. Fragrances are more then just liquid theyre are an extension of me, an emotion, & a vision of what I truly love
