Re: Rose Water

Fresh makes an amazing rose water toner that I actually just bought the other day and absolutely love :-) it is so wonderful and refreshing to spray on my face everyday.  And they claim that with regular use it improves the quality of your skin and the way it looks.  http://www.fresh.com/skincare/toner/ros … oral-water

Re: Rose Water

It is very aromatic and is purely rose scented. It would have a mix of water and other ingredients to keep it preserved. Something that could be prepared at home too, but not worth the effort when you could get that readily available.

Rosewater lassi's are divine!

Crabtree & Evelyn practically built an entire business on rosewater soap, lotion, and fragrance.  I have supplied my mom with their body lotion and soap for decades.  I also like C & E's Summer Hill collection and their jojoba products.

A Very Popular Middle Eastern confection called Turkish Delight is usually made using Rosewater.  If you haven't ever tried it on its own quite often its the Jelly like substance you might find in a Rockyroad candy bar. http://www.fragrantica.com/board/img/smilies/tongue.png

Re: Rose Water

Rosewater is so great as an alcohol-free toner, particularly for sensitive or mature skin. Its even good for babie´s diaper rash. There is a medieval rose-cream dessert which is really delicious! I had it in Estonia once.

Re: Rose Water

There are two types of rose water, the first has been already mentioned: The distillation of rose petals which you can do at home.

The second one is also called a hydrosol and is the by-product from the making of the rose (morrocan or bulgarian) essential oil. This one has the same properties as the essential oil, it is just less concentrated and can be used directly on the skin.

Oh, and I discovered also Orange Blossom Water ( bought at the same store , but this one comes from Lebanon  I think). It is so fragrant and wonderful on skin, amazing.

Re: Rose Water

I use rosewater toner to refresh and set my make up.

My daughter loves rosewater in her rice pudding.  superglad

Re: Rose Water

Mmmmm!!! I love rosewater and anything scented with that smell!

I tried Turkish Delight in rose flavour: a sweet bomb!

I use Molinard Rose Water everyday after cleansing instead of toners because it is just pure rosewater, refreshing, soothing and not so full of chemicals like regular toners.

It's wonderful... can be used as a toner, eye drops like naheed said, and it's also good for healing wounds since it's antiseptic. Perfect for sensitive skin!

I've used it as a toner! It's awesome. I actually want some to perfume myself with I miss that smell. The rose notes in perfumes don't please me anywhere near like rose water does.

is the one that goes closer to the smell of rosewater IMO.

I use Molinard pure rose water as a toner and also on cotton pads for swollen eyes. In that case I keep it in the fridge.

Re: Rose Water

I just recently discovered this thread and it inspired me to seek out a bottle of Rosewater at a local Mediterranean market in my town. I found a 300ml bottle of Cortas brand Rosewater from Lebanon and I'm very pleased! I used this as a face toner by pouring some into a small spritz bottle...lovely! Thanks for the inspiration and info everyone! glad

Re: Rose Water

I use a rosewater tonic from Boots every day to cleanse my face.  Also, I discovered that green tea mixed with rose water is delicious.

I often add a few drops of it in my vanilla yogourt!

I have to try it with ice cream and saffron! yum glad

I am not picky, just discerning.

Re: Rose Water

Rahat loukom (my favorite)! Make a little batch of that glad! Sprinkle some of the rosewater on your brush, right before you pass it through your hair. It's actually a good manager (astringent, but oiled) and it leaves a wonderful scent behind.

I've used a cheap grocery store rosewater as a toner, for years. If it's distilled, you can mix it in with a water-based lotion.

There is also orange flowers' water, similar with rosewater but made from orange flowers., you can buy it from lebanese or moroccan stores.

It smells divine, of neroli and orange blossom and it is very fragrant. I find it slightly better than the rose version and I always add a dab of it when I make pancakes or fig preserves. It gives many desserts a wonderful neroli flavour.

Just a question please..... what are fig preserves?

Re: Rose Water

I've been using an organic hydrosol version of rosewater from Bulgarian roses.  Alteya is the brand.  I use it on my face as a toner/refresher, especially in summer.  It is very soothing for sensitive facial skin.  Misting it on hair seems to help refresh dry hair.  I like to decant some into a little mister bottle to spray on my face after a gym workout.  I haven't cooked with it.  Maybe it would be nice in some kind of iced herbal tea this summer.

Re: Rose Water

You can use rose water for toner on yur face. Take a cotton  dip in the rose water close your eyes, keep it on your eyes for 10mins. Tips from cosmopolitan magazine. 18

I love rosewater in teas and even some rice dishes.  Just a splash, and the aroma is wonderful 20

confiture  glad fig confiture

figs are very sweet and they loose their aroma when cooked, so adding orange blossom water and some orange peel makes the confiture very flavored and yummy !
