Topic: Freshly cut grass

I read recently that the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) has just published some research that proves what we probably already know : that the smell of freshly cut grass is actually a relaxant, and aids to reduce stress and anxiety in humans. What was really interesting though, was that it has the same effect on animals, thereby dispelling any suggestion of positive association causing the relaxation.

So, better get me some!!

......what are the best niche scents (or others) that replicate the smell of freshly cut grass?

++1 It is undoubtedly fresh cut grass in a bottle. Matter of fact, I don't often use it "on" me but rather I spray it around me and walk through! Very fresh...

Somethin' Special has a Fresh Cut Grass perfume fragrance oil that I've never actually tried, but I have some perfume fragrance oils from Somethin' Special on the way to me and I am excited to try mine! Here is a link to the Fresh Cut Grass fragrance oil by Somethin' Special...  glad

Does anyone remember the Gap scent "Grass" from the 90's? They have it on Amazon USA. It's been discontinued for years.

Now that was freshed mown garden in a bottle.

I've never heard of the Jovan's Grass Oil, just the one from Somethin' Special that I mentioned in my first reply. But to be honest, I never really thought much about it until I read your initial post... glad
I think I'm going to try the one from Somethin' Special myself after reading about it's calming effects and I use aroma therapy oils in my bath water frequently now. Thanks for the interesting information! 30

Yes, I worked at The Gap in Greenwich Village then and the place always smelled like that fragrance!  Now that IS fresh mowed grass scent!

Oh cool dkny27! "Grass" was literally grass. It had to be smelled to be believed. It was so true... I kinda wish I had some. It was more an experience than a fragrance.
