Topic: lost beauty items

I just wasted half an hour of my life trying to find my nail clippers. I have two of them and they both have disappeared miraculously. So, I just bought myself new ones. Again.

I'm curious which beauty items you girls (and guys) misplace or lose the most? For me, other than nail clippers, it's lip balms. I lose on average one lip balm a month...

Re: lost beauty items

Bobby pins and hair ties! I take them out before my shower and after I get out ***POOF*** they're nowhere to be found. Last time I had to go buy hair ties I bought the rubber ones and now I never take it off my wrist, even through the shower, so at least I solved one of these problems lol.

New SWAP list here...

Re: lost beauty items

Combs. I know I have loads of them lurking somewhere and I occasionally surprise them hiding in drawers or make-up bags, but never when I actually want one.

My lip salves tend to wander too.

Re: lost beauty items

NAIL CLIPPERS!  I agree, oh my golly, where do they GO!?  Holly, I literally buy a new nail clipper once a month; we have, like, 16 of them.  They are never in the medicine cabinet where they belong.  Also, tweezers, bobby pins( my girls) and thin black hair ties (my girls), every time I go to the store, I am buying these!

Oh boy, let's just say, for quickness' sale that I spend a significant part of my time looking for things. Even when they are where they should be. I'm just to dopey to notice or remember. dumbom Nightmare.

It's a curse, isn't it! Not being able to find things gnaws away at me, even if it is something trivial. Good advice is to look again in the place it is supposed to be, just look a bit harder. It works most of the time, but then I live alone, so no-one else is hiding my things.

Re: lost beauty items

Thanks for all your replies! Somehow it's a relief to see I am not the only one. Sometimes I feel I am losing my mind, trying to find all that stuff that must be in the house SOMEWHERE.

I live with a male roommate, but it's not like he's stealing my girl stuff. At least he claims no to  tongue

And still haven't found the nail clippers gnah.

Lipbalms, bobby pins and hair ties! I have a pencil case to keep them in, but I still lose them all the time!

Re: lost beauty items

I definitely lose hair ties the most. Oftentimes I let a coworker take mine or let my sister borrow, and then they're all gone. tongue

I keep losing lip glosses; I end up finding them years (yes, years) later in a purse I have in my closet or in storage. It sucks because the flavor gets stale and two were yummy flavors that are now discontinued: buttercream frosting from Lip Smackers and pink lemonade from some organic brand I forgot the name of.

I...have finally seen the light. And I...have finally realized I NEED TO LOVE.

You're quite right. I don't live alone, but that's not the point. A good dose of presence of mind wouldn't go amiss.

But I always imagine no-one else is like this.

Re: lost beauty items

Definitely hair ties for me! I think they end up in the same place as socks that go in the washer/dryer but never come out.

My saddest loss was my Tweezerman tweezers. Those things were soooo awesome. My best guess is they fell in the trash and I threw them away by mistake. I got a new pair, but they're not nearly as sharp as the old ones. Instead of plucking hairs, they just break them off.

Re: lost beauty items

Hair ties for me also...I seem to go through packs and packs! Where do they GET to???  tongue

Re: lost beauty items

The hair ties I find all over, in pockets, in the shower, on the floor.  Also, my girls say they snap after awhile, or someone uses them at school....on and on, all I know is I buy them all the time.

This is funny, I used to lose hairties all the time, I couldn't fathom how I managed to lose maybe half a dozen every month. Then one day the fridge was broken and had to be moved. There they were, my cat was stealing and stashing them behind the fridge for a while, dozens of hairties, rubbers etc. Guess he really liked them superglad

Re: lost beauty items

Nail clippers disappear at my house too.  Tweezers is in second place and hair ties...we have so many around here that I hardly miss the missing ones anymore.

Bobby pins!! I swear they run away!!

Re: lost beauty items

Fingernail files!  I must have bought dozens, all kinds, metal, emery, you name it.   They all disappear into some kind of unearthly void never to be found again.

Re: lost beauty items

I lose a lot of hair ties and lip balms. I use them throughout the house, so I set them down when I'm done. Sometimes, I forget to put them away and forget where I left them.

I lose costume jewelry too. I take it off at night, and put it in my night cabinet. Then, I'm looking for a certain pair for weeks.
