Topic: Joy de Jean Patou - parfum

Hi everyone

I'm learning so much from this website, and I bet one of you knows the answer to my question - or at least where I might go to find it.

I'm wondering about how to date Joy parfum (extrait).

I have seen some bottles in a square, almost Chanel-like bottle, with faceted crystal (I presume) stopper. Similar to the picture I found here.

Others have been in a roundish black bottle with a pink-red cap.

And still others have been in a cylinder shaped bottle with horizontal ribs and a gold cap.

I know that the Cosmetics Wizard site has a batch calculator, but as I haven't yet made a purchase I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me roughly from which decade each of those three bottles are from.

Thank you, fellow Fragranistas!

Not seeing your pix,but however I do know that the Patou company was sold in 2001 to Proctor and Gamble, so any frag I get from Patou has to be before that.

Re: Joy de Jean Patou - parfum

Thanks. I'll try again with the pix.

I have a 1960's bottle of Joy in the faceted Baccarat bottle. I know its date because it was my mother's.

Thanks for that.

I've just trawled through the internet, found pictures of the three bottles I'm wondering about, cropped them and copied on to my computer, but can't now figure out how to paste them into my post.

Perhaps my fragrance muse is telling me that Joy isn't for me!
