Topic: sample bottles

hi! i am new to this but i was just wondering are all sample bottles supposed to be glass? i work in research and i am thinking of decanting samples too as my collection is growing but i want to exchange samples. we throw a lot of 1-2ml plastic tubes and pipettes that are clean. wondering if i could use those and i will gladly give them away to others who wants them just send me a pm. those fit perfectly in test tube racks or just the cardboard boxes rack, easy for storing, i can give you those too if i have extras. glad i'm from US.

Re: sample bottles

I heard that yes, it's best to store perfumes in glass not plastic as the perfume will interact with some plastics. I guess if you work in research and the equipment is sterile you can give it a try! What fun!

Re: sample bottles

You should be fine with your plastic vials for the sake of exchanging samples.  If, however, you want to decant and store a juice for a longer period, better go for glass.

Re: sample bottles

For exchanging, plastic is ok  for long term storage, glass only.
