I just founded another topic about something being fake or not... would be risky/out of question to try to have a "database" with descriptions of the "real" ones?-to avoid people for getting fakes, and to make more agile the forum itself?

I so agree! I just read the topic "ebay seller with fake Diors" topic, the pictures were so detailed and informative. I was thinking how wonderful it would be to have a section devoted to only authenticating purposes in which members give detailed information and pictures of 100% authentic fragrances. I even went to grab my bottle (which was purchased from Macy's) just to compare and be reassured that it was legit. There were things that I would have never noticed before reading through that topic.

And also, a shelf for decants/minis would be super cool!!!!!!

Please do increase the number of characters available for private notes.

Sometimes 255 is not enough.

At least double that number.

This may have been suggested before - sorry if it has.  Could the reviews be dated please, as sometimes someone asks for - or offers a fragrance within it.  Also it would justy be nice to know when the review was written.  Thanks!

1. Add 'wearing history of perfumes' at profile page with some statistics.

2. Add 'top 5 fragrances and signature perfume' (default still looking for it) on the profile.

3.Onperfumepages, there would be an option to view the members whohavethisperfume in their " I have, I had , I want or for test list".

4.Addsignin production/discontinued (maybe make it public votingbecausedefiniteinformation is not available so we all together canmarkperfumes)

5. Add new page where could be visible reviews from last 4-5 days similar like we had on contest page earlier.

6. More options in the love, like, dislike category......a neutral too

7. Balloonsforinterestingor well-written reviews to say you like what thepersonhaswritten....but public voting (+ - ticks?) as to whetherpeopleagreewith the descriptions/scents/notes or similes, so you get afeelof themajority view of a particular perfume? (balloons seem tohavedifferentmeanings for everyone)* Maybe the balloons would stick(notbetakenaway once given) but the +/- rating would change with everyvote?

8. Something linked to each profile showing what people have/want/looking for swaps....similar to the like/love/dislike bit?*

9. Addto'Ihave, had, want' - 'For swap' and on perfume page there would bealinkto list of users who put this perfume in their for swap. OnlyIthinkvisible for users only.

10. Add a most popular perfumes section, to gauge which perfumes are liked best in the fragrantica community.

11.EXCHANGE&SWAP.Add sticky thread with some basic managementsuggestions sincethissection is becoming \clogged with threads.(Suggestions such as *onethread per member [many members already dothis; they update asthingsare added or swapped and then bump thethread up]; •deleting threadsthat are no longer active --along withinstructions onhow to deleteone's own thread; I'm sure there are otherways tomanage it--otherscould add ideas here)

12. Be able to enter name of a fragrance "currently wearing" that is not in the database.

13. Be able to have a "friends" section for quick link to their profile.

14. Iwouldsuggestreplacing thumbs up and thumbs down with thumbs up and"reportthisreview." No negative votes; only positive votes, no votesat all,orreporting of spam or non-reviews,plagiarized reviews.

16. Maybe add to love/like etc. would 'buy it again'? Like yes or no. (Like I saw on makeupalley)?

17.Clouds of tags for perfume. Tags based on a standarized dictionary ofperfume-related adjectives (e.g. "powdery", "intoxicating", etc.). Tagsadded _automatically_ if a given word appears in the reviews (if it isnot preceeded by words: "not" or "isn't"). The more times a given wordappears the bigger "cloud" it creates.

18. Perfumes "for test" should have option when you want to print them to see fullname of the perfume and the producer, and also to make picture largerso you can read what is printed (when Im going to test perfume I dontremember everything, so it is easier to have a list with you; but onefrom which you can read).

19. In main page, can justify the paragraphs under headings, New fragrances + Article comments. It will look much more clearer.

20.In the main page left hand side, the area appearing with whitesurrounding green, is looks bit messy for the main page. It would nicerif can change it.coz with green color white area is prominent andhighlighted areas not sharp

21. When click on theletter, when u load the page,in left side white space is prominentwithe the green color. it would be nice if can change to the some othercolor(white area)

22. When have time...please give anew look to club area as well:) mean change two flowers into some otherflowers.. it will give a fresh look again

23. Whenlooking at the topics section one cant be certain where did he leavehis post allready, so several times happened to me that I was lookingat the topic not remembering did I write something there or not. Makethe topic title change the color if a member has participated inanswering it.

24. There should be also information for each fragrance if it's discontinued or in production.

25. Now you can set the fragrance that you are wearing, as well as view what other people are wearing. Based on this data, there could be a ranking of total popularity of fragrances that would count the number of users wearing a given fragrance. After a click on a fragrance in the ranking you would get a list of these users.

26) In "Notes", list the perfumes that smell the most like that note first.  Is there a way to do this by incorporating the note strength votes from each individual perfume?

If I want to smell mainly blackberries or caramel, it's very difficult and time consuming to go into every perfume with that note to find the ones that are strongest.

About tags, and rating scents... you have already your team, yet there are many well experienced people here (members, I mean), some in the bussiness or writing, and a few experts, so  even if we are a community that won't "remark" that (or so I believe and hope), they could be asked to help, if they have the will and the time, to achieve those suggestions, I guess. The same as I tought about vintages and out of catalogue and discontinued fragrances, an easy way to cooperate if possible?

Could you add a "vintage" note or indication on some of the perfumes so we could show in our collections that we have "vintage" Shalimar, "vintage" Emeraude vs. teh current version?  I think it would require a new description with vintage years, etc.  thanks!

i would like to be able to search perfumes from their rating of signatures scents for example (if i want to know the perfume more used as signature scents or least used)

i would like to have a separated session to organize my samples
