Alan Cumming is a Scottish actor, producer, writer and author who starred on movies, television and theatre.

Born in 1965, in Aberfeldy, Scotland, Cumming went to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated in 1985. Even before the graduation, he had already made a debut in movie and theatre and formed a cabaret double act with friend Forbes Masson, named Victor and Barry. After graduating, he worked in Scottish theater and television, before moving to London and gaining his first Olivier award nomination for Most Promising Newcomer of 1988 for a role in the play "Conquest of the South Pole”. He performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre and in 1991 won the Olivier award for Comedy Performance of the Year.

His movie carrier started with “Prague”, a movie by Ian Sellar's , in 1992. For this role he won Best Actor award at the Atlantic Film Festival and a Scottish BAFTA Best Actor nomination. In 1994, his Hollywood break-out came with “Circle of Friends”, followed by “Golden Eye” (1995), “Emma” (1996), “Romy and Michele's High School Reunion” (1997) and “Buddy” (1997). He returned to the UK in 1997 to work with Stanley Kubrick and the Spice Girls, before heading back to USA in 1998 and performing on Broadway. In February 2000, he hosted Saturday Night Live Show.

Alan Cumming won many awards in theatre and movies. He also wrote a book in 2002, titled “Tommy's Tale”. He starred in TV series such as “Sex and the City” (2001), “Foyle’s War” (2002), “The L Word” (2006) and “The Good Wife” (2010) and his recent movies include “X2: X-Men United” (2003), “S Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over”(2002), Burlesque (2010), “The Smurfs” (2011) and many others.

His fragrance of a humoristic, word-play name “Cumming” was developed in 2004 by the famous nose Christopher Brosius. The fragrance was relaunched as a part of the Christopher Brosius’ own niche fragrance line CB I Hate Perfume in 2010, named 2nd Cumming.
