Bruno Banani Fragrances

Bruno Banani is the successor to an underwear-brand of the GDR (Trikotex), and it's located in Chemnitz (formerly Karl-Marx-Stadt).

Wolfgang Jassner on the birth of the cult brand bruno banani: "The former VEB (state-owned enterprises in the GDR) Tricotex was dissolved in 1993. Only around 250 out of the 2,500 jobs before the political transformation were retained in the new companies. No future? No! I met Klaus Jungnickel, Managing Director of the then Mittelbach Textile Factory (approx. 30 employees), and told him about my idea to develop and produce a separate designer underwear collection by a commission production company. This segment was now well-established in the USA and had already achieved SUCCESS. The extension of its sphere of influence to Europe was only a question of time."

1994 was a year of launch of bruno banani, and 1995 was a year of creating brands image. 1996 year was known for 10,000 km through the desert. Expedition to the legendary Ophir gold-bearing region in Africa. The adventure test quickly became an extreme test for bruno banani. This is because 10,000 km of desert had to be crossed in 120 days. During the adventure test, expedition guru Achill Moser and a select team followed the centuries-old trails of gold-seekers. bruno banani supported this unique historical expedition and fitted out the team of researchers with underwear from the "Your Perfect Underwear" line. The researchers encountered sandstorms, lions, water shortages and freezing nights on their travels. These challenges can easily be mastered with bruno banani, because the expedition proved that bruno banani products stand a lot of wear. The exertions were worthwhile: bruno banani is now the first underwear line to carry the symbol "Adventure Tested."

On 15 May 1998, bruno banani became the world's first manufacturer of designer underwear to carry out the first function test in weightless conditions on board the Russian space station MIR with the "Your Dynamic Underwear" collection. The main aim of this unique fit and comfort test mission was to carry out really tough material and load tests so that the collection could be awarded the rating "Space Proofed". On 13 August 1998 it was finally time. On board the famous Soyuz rocket in Baikonur, Kazakhstan, bruno banani set off for the MIR space station. Flying time: 48 hours. Chief flight engineer Nikolai Budarin began the tests immediately. He tested the collection during his daily fitness programme in the MIR base module at 90% relative air humidity. No other results were expected: the elasticity and dynamic fit of the collection impressed him tremendously.

In 2000 bruno banani designed the new "Quant" watch generation, and in 2001 went to ultranautical expedition "Pressure Proof": at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. This was the first time that designer underwear was being taken to the bottom of the ocean for experimental purposes.

During the years, among many activities, Bruno Banani made speed proof (239,697,964.948 km/h); wote and win - the first competition in space; design meets art (2005), the first underwater crash (2006), Peace Camp and Race for Success...

Designer Bruno Banani has 13 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest editions originate from 2000 and the newest ones from 2010. Bruno Banani fragrances are made in association with perfumers Bernard Ellena and Thierry Wasser.
