Izod is a sportswear and casual clothing company, founded in the USA in 1938.

The story goes like this: An American businessman Vincent De Paul Draddy searched for the name of his new clothing brand. While he was on a vacation in London, he encountered well respected tailor Jack Izod and his boutique. Jack Izod himself created the Windsor tie-knot for King George V. He was ready to retire and he agreed to let Draddy purchase his brand’s name. The brand was named Izod of London.

Izod of London became well known name in the “preppy clothing” industry when it paired with Lacoste from 1952 to 1993. "Izod of London" soon became known simply as "Izod Lacoste". The brand reached its height of popularity during the late 1970s in the US and became the signature 1980s "preppy" clothing item, with T-shirts of pastel colors playing a central role in this fashion trend.

In 1995, Phillips-Van Heusen buys the Izod brand and launches a new chapter of its fashion through a series of menswear lines. By 2000, Izod brand expands its sporting lines, its primary focus being golf. Today, Izod continues to offer youthful energetic lines of men’s, women’s and kids’ wardrobe throughout the world.

Izod is a new fragrance brand. Designer Izod has only one perfume in our fragrance encyclopedia from year 2008. Izod fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Annie Buzantian and Raymond Matts.
