L'Atelier Bohème is a niche perfumery house from France. It was founded in 2008 by Crystel Darchicourt who creates all the perfumes. The house is located in the city of Vernon in France.
L'Atelier Bohème offers unique, uncommon and personalized fragrances, inspired by different sensations, stories and emotions. “L'Atelier” in the name stands for handcrafting skills, well-done work and passion of perfumery art, while “Bohème” presents a journey in space and time that these perfumes embody.
Crystel Darchicourt studied sciences and got a master degree in biochemistry and a University Diploma of essential oils studies. After that, she completed her training at ISIPCA by a master degree in perfumery. ““It is as if we were offering you a huge dictionary, and that you were discovering the possibility to learn and to use a new vocabulary. Therefore it is up to you to bring up your own ideas in order to make dreams into perfumes. ", she stated at the brand’s official website, “I make a perfume with the idea of magnifying an unforgettable scent for people who will wear this perfume and will get attached to its story. There are so many tracks given by emotion and spirit. However, perfumery is above all a story which purpose is to share an olfactive feeling, difficult to put in words.” Crystel Darchicourt is inspired by her love of painting, music and art.
The collection includes perfumes and home scents. Perfumes are divided in two groups: emotion perfumes and spirit perfumes. Emotion perfumes mainly focus on natural scents, while spirit perfumes embody different types of inspirations and associations. The bottles are simple and elegant and each one features a “heart” stamped by an initial. There are three colors of the heart: silver (discreet, enigmatic, subtle), golden (spontaneous, joyful, flamboyant) and red (enveloping, charming, full of love).
