Mexx perfumes and colognes

Mexx is an international fashion brand based in the Netherlands. The company likes to describe itself as "started with a kiss."

In the 1970s, fashion designer Rattan Chadha and business partner Adu Advaney supplied private label clothes for department and wholesale stores in the Netherlands. The business was revamped in 1980 and resulted in two popular youth clothing brands—Moustache for men and Emanuelle for women. These two brands were merged in 1986 to form Mexx. The company created a new name using M (from Moustache) plus E (from (Emanuelle) plus XX (an abbreviation for "kiss kiss" ).

The success of the Mexx brand allowed for expansion into children's clothing (Mexx Kids in 1990, Mexx Mini for toddlers in 1992 and Baby Mexx in 1997). Licensing deals that began in 1996 helped put the Mexx brand on shoes, perfume, bed and bath furnishings, glasses and bags, and Mexx became known as a lifestyle company.

Mexx clothing and accessories focus on "metropolitan casual" wear, inspired by city life, along with home furnishings. Mexx markets their products through Mexx franchise boutiques and fine department stores, primarily in Europe, with expansion into Asia and the Middle East.

In 2001, the company was purchased by American fashion company Liz Claiborne, but in 2011, Mexx was sold to The Gores Group, with Liz Claiborne retaining some interest in the company.

Fragrances were offered by Mexx as early as 1996. The company's fragrances, like their clothing, are aimed at the sophisticated youth market, exuding a young vibe with colorful packaging and vibrant fragrance notes.

Designer Mexx has 34 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 2000 and the newest is from 2011. Mexx fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Benoit Lapouza and Nathalie Lorson.
