Yardley of London is a British cosmetics brand whose first successes date back to the 18th century. The company is one of the world's oldest in the cosmetics sector. Yardley of London was founded in 1770 and produced mainly soaps and perfumes and was one of the major global players in that sector. A make-up line that has been launched in the 2nd half of the 20th century has now been discontinued. Today the company's core products center around perfumes, perfumes products for bath and body, soaps, talcum powders and products for skin and hair care.
The company sources all of the lavender used for their famous products, the brand's signature, from lavender fields in the South of England. Their production site has been set up in Basildon, Essex, in England.
Yardley's collections are mainly based on linear, singular scents. The most popular fragrances are English Lavender, Lily of the Valley, English Rose, Peony and Iris with new lines being added on a regular basis. The edition from 2011, Yardley's Royal English Daisy, was inspired by the Royal Wedding and Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge. Royal English Daisy is a fresh, floral, elegant and dewy perfume for women that was built around notes of green leaves, apple, hyacinth, white rose, sandalwood and musk.
April Violet, a perfume relaunch from the 2000s, features notes of violet, pelargonium, vanilla, musk. jasmine and lily of the valley. Citrus and Wood, a men's fragrance from 2011, consists of fresh, spicy and woody notes such as lime, bergamot, elemi resin, pepper, birch, vetiver, oak moss, amber, sandalwood and cedar. Yardley's most famous fragrance, English Lavender, is composed of rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender, bergamot, clary sage, cedar, geranium, tonka bean, musk and oak moss.
English Rose, another one of the company's bestsellers that has been loved by generations, is based on floral notes of rose, geranium, creamy white flowers, woody, spicy and musky accords. The fragrances of the Heritage Collection from 2010 are the floral scents of Geranium, Hyacinth and Orange Blossom. It is also Yardley who is behind the So... ? line. Some of the fragrances of this collection are So... ? Funky, So... ? Bling and So... ? Hot.
Yardley, synonymous with affordable quality fragrances have released several other fragrances.
Designer Yardley has 45 perfumes in our fragrance base. Yardley is an old perfume house. The earliest edition was created in 1913 and the newest is from 2013. Yardley fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Ann Gottlieb, Dominique Ropion and Juliette Karagueuzoglou.
