orchid_84 Perfume Wardrobe and Profile

Hello! I really enjoy reading everyone's opinions of fragrances on this site. I've learned a great deal about my own tastes in the last couple of years, and have discovered many amazing fragrances through Fragrantica that I would never have known about otherwise.
I don't discriminate based on brand; I decide whether I like something based on the scent, regardless of whether it's designer, celebrity, niche, etc. When it comes to actually purchasing, I do expect more from pricier fragrances - if I'm going to spend a fair bit of money on a fragrance, I need to really love it.
I am partial to orientals (all types). I love fragrances that are vanillic, resinous, woody, warm and spicy. I love plenty of gourmand scents, some florals, and a few fresh citrus and oceanic scents. I'm not typically drawn to fragrances dominated by aldehydes, green notes, or sweet fruits.
Favourite notes: vanilla, incense, sandalwood, amber, cinnamon, almond, cedar, honey, jasmine, cacao/chocolate, rose, patchouli, labdanum, bitter orange, benzoin, coconut, beeswax, immortelle, tonka bean, opopanax, sea water.
I also like: apricot, bergamot, caramel, cardamom, coffee, coriander, cranberry, datura, fig, frangipani, ginger, hazelnut, heliotrope, hyacinth, kumquat, lavender, lemon, licorice, lily, lime, lotus, magnolia, mahogany, mandarin, mimosa, orange blossom, orchid, osmanthus, oud, peach, pepper, plum, praline, rhubarb, rosewood, rum, saffron, star anise, tea, tiare, vetiver, violet leaves (earthy/spicy), ylang-ylang.
I usually dislike: aldehydes, violet flowers (powdery/sweet), civet, freesia, cotton candy, cucumber, scents that smell like soap or laundry, "baby powder" scents, fruit notes that are excessively sweet, sharp, or over-ripe. Tuberose and gardenia scents rarely work well for me.
Favourite brands: Guerlain, Dior, Tom Ford, Lolita Lempicka, Thierry Mugler, Parfumerie Generale
"My favourite fragrances" and "signature" are those from my wardrobe that I am enjoying the most at the moment - they change often depending on my preferences and the current season.
