tigerhearted Perfume Wardrobe and Profile
I'm really bad at these things XD So suffice to say that I have always enjoyed fragrances, but have only recently begun really exploring them. I am 30, married, and have 2 cats and a dog. We live in the boondocks, so I get most of my samples courtesy of the internet. Occasionally I am able to get into the city and visit Sephora and Nordstrom's.
I Love: Orange blossom, orangey citruses (orange, mandarin, tangerine, etc), amber/labdanum, resins, almond, and subtly sweet/gourmand notes. Rose -- I wouldn't have specifically chosen Rose, but I do seem to really be drawn to this note when it isn't too heavy or smells like potpourri. I also enjoy Tuberose, Gardenia, and Jasmine when they aren't very indolic. I love a good rich, deep wood -- rosewood, cedar, cocobolo.
I typically seem to enjoy florals, gourmands, chypres, aldehydes, and some orientals. I seem drawn to fragrances that subscribe to a "less is more," "elegance in simplicity" approach -- fragrances with a million different notes don't usually do anything for me.
I Dislike: Patchouli, civet, and sour citruses (lemon, grapefruit, lime) usually don't do very well on me, there have been a few exceptions though. Saccharine sweet. Not a fan of licorice (I like to eat it, not smell like it!). Fake-smelling vanilla. Raspberry. Cherry. "Dry" scents (usually in the form of dry woods or dry spices...I like a bit of lushness). Lots of smoke/incense.
Quick explanation of my shelves:
Perfumes I Have -- I either own a full bottle or (more commonly) a mini bottle or decant.
Perfumes I Want -- These are fragrances that I've sampled already, and want to get a mini/decant or full bottle of. More recently I've also been adding perfumes at the top of my to-sample list to this shelf.
Perfumes I Had -- These are fragrances which I am happy to swap. Usually they are extra sample vials won from ebay, but occasionally they are mini or full-size bottles.
For Test -- These are fragrances that I want to sample.
