Debuting in January 2011 with just 40 exhibitors, the Elements Showcase has grown by leaps and bounds, and is now considered by many to be the world's most exciting event and tradeshow for scented design objects, apothecary and beauty products. Founders and curators Frederick Bouchardy of Joya, Jeff Lawson and Ulrich Lang are pleased to present the fifth installment on January 28-29, 2013. The upcoming showcase will, as always, feature exceptional fragrance and beauty brands from around the world.

The visual design of the Elements Showcase always ensures the event is a feast for the eyes as well as the nose. Past design concepts have included such diverse elements as white box sculptures, a paper installation by artist/perfume designer Andrea Maack, and subtle elements of nature interspersed with innovative lighting.

Elements Showcase and Studio Number One, the agency founded by Shepard Fairey (the artist behind the "Obey" campaign and clothing design, as well as the famous "Hope" poster for U.S. President Obama's 2008 campaign), have announced special edition artwork custom-designed by the agency for this fifth edition of Elements Showcase. Created by Casey Ryder, Associate Creative Director of Studio Number One, the artwork will be used on the Elements catalogue cover and in other media.

"This piece for the Elements Showcase is meant to capture the essence of fragrance, design and beauty. It combines an intricate pattern with an organic 'spray' texture," said Ryder.

Ryder is a Southern California native with deep roots in surf, skate, punk, and art. Emerging as a leading figure in brand design for youth-focused culture, he has collaborated with Shepard Fairey on several high-profile projects and his personal illustrations have appeared in national magazines. Ryder's agency, Studio Number One, helps brands achieve more meaningful consumer experiences through original storytelling, innovative art-based design, marketing and creative consultancy.

"Elements is pleased to team up with Studio Number One, as we share a complementary ethos and dedication to collaboration, transparency, community, and a desire to tamper with the established order of things," noted Bouchardy.

Fragrantica will continue updates about the Elements Showcase leading up to the event, and we will provide live coverage of the event on January 28 and 29, 2013.
