As we have already announced, Chanel started showing a movie starring Audrey Tautou in the main role, together with Travis Devenport on May 5th. Directed by: Jean-Pierre Jeunet. You can watch this movie on a web site designed and dedicated specially to perfume Chanel No5, which was introduced back in 1921, on the fifth day of the month, fifth month of the year and composed of five selected components.
We are bringing you a short advertising clip. You can watch the whole video on Chanel No5 web site. Creator of this fragrant classic is Ernest Beaux.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a genius and I was sure of the film's quality before watching it, only seeing his name as a director.
And I was right. The film is as concentrate as the Eau de parfume itself, a distilled romantic story in a short movie: it succeeds in filming olfactive sensations through the light, which is like filtered through the Chanel no. 5 bottle. The train is best chosen with its air flows opportunities, which are suggested by the train open windows and the compartments, which permit the close presence of somebody, but in the same time the separation. The only agent which can make the other being felt is the smell, and therefore the strong Chanel no. 5, accompanying such a French lady symbol as Audrey Tatou.
Even the cristaline sensation given by the crystal bottle and the character of the Chanel no. 5 itself is rendered in the film, when the bottle is shakened by the train movement!
The atmosphere, the vintage look, all contribute to advertise a perfume belonging mostly to the past but lingering in our lives due to its lasting power as a classic value.
