Airy Flacons, Light Compositions – Summer is Ahead of us!

It seems that summer has begun in May! Warm days and scorching sun skip spring and fight to come to the first plant as soon as possible. As days become warmer, I try to choose natural materials in light colors and I think about new, light and airy compositions which will not feel like a burden during high temperatures, but will refresh and recuperate me.

The color White is a symbol of innocence, freedom, peace, cleanliness; it is the color of clouds, milk, paper and snow. Brides choose white for color of their wedding gowns in many countries and white is also characteristic for doctors' work clothes. Too strong a white can damage your vision.

Among new, whitish editions, I would like to single out several flacons and compositions which have been introduced recently to fit the summer period. What connects all the editions are the design and color of the flacons, their transparent glass, with frozen or metallic effects, along with pearly contours. This signals that they contain compositions which have the main aim to cool, refresh and fill your summer days with pleasure. Gentle, pleasant and clean, they are perfect fragrant companions for upcoming summer days.

Transparent and very elegant, summer Kenzo Amour Florale version will win you over with fresh and romantic notes of neroli, which are touched with spices and sharp, fruity aromas of grapefruit and black currant. Rose, frangipani and gardenia highlight the floral theme of the fragrance, while its base is fragile and clear (musk, cedar). Issey Miyake presents a transparent fragrant pair L`Eau d`Issey Eau d`Ete Summer Edition for Women and L`Eau d`Issey Eau d`Ete Summer Edition for Men, ideal for summer because of their light, fresh and clear notes.

Narciso Rodriguez, who had great success with his first perfume, launches perfume Essence this year. Its essences are intensive and casual at the same time, pulsing on the skin with fresh and clean accords, accompanied with sunshine effects. Its flacon is rounded, futuristic, created with a mirrored effect, very modern, and the composition includes a powdery-musky mixture of rose, iris, benzoin and musk.

An airy and shiny beauty by the house of Guerlain, Eau de Shalimar 2009, is one of the reinterpretations of the legendary fragrance from 1925, and it arrives in a see-through flacon decorated with white flowers, with a white rose on the neck of the bottle. The fragrance will refresh you with lime, orange and bergamot, with a heart blossoming with rose and jasmine and a base of vanilla and ambergris.

Armani offers us Summer Code, which, I believe, will become a  favorite of fans of the original perfume, as well as to other ladies who find the first edition too strong. Feminine Code Summer arrives in an elegant, tall flacon decorated with floral applications, coloured in white. The perfume is very pleasant, creamy and gentle. It reminds me of the fragrant games of the first version of popular Code, but it is perfect for summertime and summer love. Icy fresh water is blended with a fruity cocktail of pear and bitter orange, decorated with a union of neroli, orange blossom, jasmine and cyclamen, along with soapy and sexy ginger, which adds a stamp to this composition. The base is fondling, created of vanilla, precious wood and musk. The edition for men is complimentary to the version for women, refreshing and very pleasant, ideal for relaxation and rest. Armani Summer Code pour Homme features sea notes, citruses, herbs and woody accords, creating a woody mixture appropriate for hot, summer days.

And at the end, meditative Zen Summer by Shiseido arrives in a very modern whitish cube, as a scent of light and refreshment. Citruses, currant and green apples add a fresh and luminous seal to top notes, which blend with aquatic, fresh and gently sweet lotus, water lily, freesia, rose and lily of the valley in the heart, on a base of passionate fruity raspberry, cedar, musk and amber.

I could go on and on with Flora by Gucci, Valentino Rock'n Dreams, Zegna Colognia ... but I will leave it to you to remember other transparent editions which will mark this year and the next years.
