Avon and Emanuel Ungaro Launch a New Fragrant Couple

Avon is continuing to partner renowned designers and celebrities in order to strengthen its brand portfolio.

After entering into collaboration with Christian Lacroix and launching Rouge and Noir, and Cynthia Rowley in creation of Flower and Petal, this time the cooperation is established with Emanuel Ungaro. Together they are launching two fragrances, U by Ungaro for Him and U by Ungaro for Her.

After the dramatic couture feel of the fragrances signed by Christian Lacroix, and kind of capricious scents of Cynthia Rowley, the new fragrances will bring a modern and contemporary style, a touch of Parisian chic. They will primarily be aimed at younger audience, although not excluding other age groups of Avon’s broad clientele. The fragrances are in line the new Ungaro’s contemporary brand U by Ungaro first launched in Japan in July 2007.

The collaboration between Avon and Emanuel Ungaro in creating fragrances also means a continuation of Avon’s collaboration with IF, as both fragrances were created by IFF noses.

U by Ungaro for Her is a modern floral fragrance which features notes of bergamot blossom, freesia and pepper blossom in the top, acacia, living lotus flower, and osmanthus in the heart, and orris, sandalwood and musk in the base.

This fragrance was created by Jean Marc Chaillan and Loc Dong. The face of U by Ungaro for Her will be the Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon, the ambassador and global face for Avon.

U by Ungaro for Him opens with green mandarin leaf, red grapefruit, and pomegranate, followed by immortale, cardamom, and cedar leaf in the heart. The base introduces woodsy notes of vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood, in alliance with Tonka bean and Peru balsam. U by Ungaro for Men was created by Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin.

The fragrances will be launched in August 2008, simultaneously in North America and U.K. The markets of Central and Eastern Europe will be reached in September, and other Avon’s markets in the world by the end of the year. The fragrances will retail at the price of US$32 for U by Ungaro for Her and US$28 for U by Ungaro for Him. They will be available via Avon’s sales representatives and online through avon.com.
