RICHMOND — December 29, 2009 — “Up and running.” Bankai, LLC, began operations this month with the unveiling of its first fragrance line, TEMPLE. The company is the brainchild of founders Natalie Macklin-Williams and Belinda Woods who share a common passion of helping people look, live and feel better. “Our goal at Bankai is quite simple,” says co-founder Macklin-Williams. “We want to see people restored from the inside out. That’s why we chose the name ‘Bankai.' The name means 'to restore' and comes from my Japanese heritage."

The company plans to achieve its goal by combining exceptional fragrances for the body with inspirational messages for the spirit and soul. “We chose TEMPLE as the name of our first fragrance because it symbolically represents what we are as people,” says co-founder Woods. “We are all temples that come in different shapes, sizes and colors. However, our real beauty cannot be measured simply by what we look like on the outside. Our real beauty can only be discovered when we explore what’s on the inside.” This is the message they convey with every bottle.
Fortunately, it doesn’t take long to discover the beauty of TEMPLE. Its distinctive fragrance comes in three versions: The Body Oil, Fragrance for Men and Fragrance for Women. The Body Oil combines rich essential oils with enticing eastern fragrances such as frankincense and myrrh. The men and women’s fragrances are uniquely formulated to create sensual scents that are alluring and captivating to the senses. The fragrances can be used alone or in conjunction with the Body Oil.

Bankai press release
I really don't know what to think about this fragrance. i agree, the website wsn't informative. i pictured incense and a theme. maybe it is a cult
The notes seem something right up my alley but the website is weird. What's with all the Jesus stuff? Are they primarily a religious group that makes perfumes or are they a perfume house? It's a little off-putting.
Yeesh. I was wondering whether the article meant Richmond, VA, USA? Or some other Richmond? Went to the website. It's deeply uninformative, doesn't say where the company is, and only tells 2 notes on the woman's product, 3 notes on the mens, and no sample program. So I went to the blog out of curiosity and found that it had 2 entries, both full of New Testament Bible quotes and TONS of misspellings. Not a very impressive company so far!
