Be Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful opened their first store on trendy Carnaby Street in London in 2003.  B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful is a sister company to Lush, but with a slightly different and more luxorious approach.

"The inspiration had come from playing at my aunty Penny's dressing table as a child and I wanted to recreate that playfulness and fun" says Rowena Bird, B's Director and co-founder "we wanted to create a brand which would become desirably collectable in years to come and that customers would have a passion for collecting, so I spent a long time investigating different forms of packaging from all over the world and it was in India and Morocco that I found the biggest inspirations".

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful offers eleven different perfumes, but also a wonderful make-up range bursting with colours and the most beautiful, happy and fun package. Bath-and bodyproducts for all ages, occations and both men and women. Gorgeus accessories, such as fragrant fans, scented candles and various gift packs, there is certain every one can find something for themself or as a wonderful gift for someone special.

Mark Constantine has been Never B Too Busy To Be Beautiful´s head perfumer, and are the nose behind nine of the perfumes. Now his son, Simon Constantine, has follow in the steps of his father and are the new head perfumer at B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful, creating so far two of the perfumes in the range, Breath of God and Superworldunknown.

The perfumes of B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful have recently got a lot of attention, much thanks to world knowned perfume expert- and critic Luca Turin, writing a very favourable review for Breath of God. And do the perfumes from B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful deserve the attention? In my opinion, oh yes, definitly. I have tried the whole range and it´s seldom I come across a whole line of so wonderfully, unique and interesting perfumes.

Breath of God is of course an interesting and also, challenging perfume. It is smokey with a soft floral base coming trough once in a while, like the perfume actually breathing on my skin, wich isn´t so strange, since it actually consists of two different perfumes, Exhale and Inhale, blended together in a delicate and intriguing way. Breath of God make me calm and laidback, it is both soft and sensual and brave and personal all in once. It is strong, longlasting and are as stunning on both men and women.

Breath of God is really one of the most amazing smokey perfumes I´ve come across, much thanks to it´s combination with the soft and sensual floral base.

Simons second perfume for B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful is inspired of the swedish singer Karin Park, and if Breath of God is quite a serious perfume, Superworldunknown is its opposite. It´s easy, cherful and stuffed with the most delicious gourmand notes such as vanilla and cocoa.

Still it´s a sofisticated kind of perfume, not at all that kind of overly sweet gourmand, no this is fresh, airy and sparkling. I´ve got whiffs of licorice, gorgeus vanilla fudge, sea breeze, citrus and juniper.

Superworldunknown develops and changes a lot while I´m wearing it, all the time making me feel happy and very curious about what comes next. Karin Park can definitly feel honored being the muse of such a lovely perfume.

Marks perfumes also deserve a lot of attention, I find many of them lovely, saturated and with a very interesting dark, musky almost dirty character.

Keep It Fluffy is a B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful bestseller, and I understand why. Keep It Fluffy is a tribute to the colour pink, and this is a pretty pink.

No doubt about it being fluffy, caressing and girly with it notes of vanilla, jasmine, ylang absolute and a touch of rose. But to my nose it is a pink only pretending to be all innocent and girly, underneath the fluffy surface it´s bursting with sex appeal, female sensuality and dare I say a heavy dose of femme fatale. Still in that kind of 50´s pretty and well behaved way. Anyway, it´s comforting, easy to like and you might find when you wear it you feel an urge to anything pink.

B Scent is obviously B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful house scent, and it manage to be so with honour. B Scent is a tribute to anything French, or as the company points out, a little a foreigner´s view of the French. And it is an amazing view. Vibrant, fresh, soft and full of life.

All I can think of when I wear it is actually one of my favourite french movies, Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain. B Scent could very well be her perfume, and I am thankful that I´ve got the chanse to try it. A zesty and quirky daytime fragrance for anyone being or feeling young. But look out, it has a knock out spirituality and charm, and yes, there´s also some husky musk in it. No point trying to resist it, just surrender and go with the happy flow.

Another favourite of mine is 1000 Kisses Deep. Inspired by the song with the same name by Leonard Cohen, and this isn´t a perfume marketing towards an younger audience, no this is for a woman who has lived. And of course she still does, this is an adventurous, warm, mature and oriental perfume. It has sweet fruity notes, some myrrh and labdanum give it depth and sensuality.

Citrus oils make 1000 Kisses Deep lighter and more sparkling, without losing it´s alluring darkness. 1000 Kisses Deep has also that somewhat smokey, musky quality I like so much.

Wearing 1000 Kisses Deep is like being wrapped up in an unbeliveble soft and warm blanket, and it last for such a long time, spraying some in the evening and I still smell it next morning. Classy, fun and for women with confident, warmt and a big sense of humor.

And B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful not only offers perfumes for women, they also have perfumes for a male audience. Dear John, Dirty, Breath of God and Lady Boy. I find Breath of God and Lady Boy to be interesting unisex perfumes, but Dear John and Dirty has a more masculine character.

Dear John is an unusual perfume, it´s manage to stir up emotions. Both for the man who wears it, but also for the one´s that come close enough to smell it.

Dear John isn´t a loud kind of fragrance, so you must get close and honestly, when my husband wears this I don´t want to be anything but close to him. Dear John is all about security, trust and that comforting kind of caring masculin love.

When my husband wears Dear John, I am so content just with lying next to him, my head on his shoulder and now and then inhale a little sniff of this ultra-comforting and wonderful perfume, and you know what, my husband seem to be very content about it to. Notes of smoke, coffee, clove, black pepper, cassia, musk and others makes this a lingering, caressing and very masculine olfactory experience.

Lady Boy is as close to a female fragrance one can imagine a masculine perfume to be without being feminine. Or...? Lady Boy is androgyn in the best possible way, this is for everyone out there feeling a bit odd, queer or just not as ordinary as everybody else. This is for a person that enjoys life and wish to live in a fast and daring way, eager to try anything new and adventurous, setting trends rather than follows them.

Lady Boy opens with a big banana blast, I´ve never encountered such a true banana in a perfume before, and even tough I´m not sure I want to go around smelling banana, Lady Boy acomplished the first mission, that to make me smile. Soon, the banana wonders off and leaving only the slightest funny and fruity fragrance.

Lady Boy develops toward a more woody kind of perfume, a lot of violet comes to play, and this isn´t some shy violets, no they are sweet, loud and sassy. Some notes of seaweed adds a thad of masculinity to Lady Boy. Lady Boy isn´t only androgyn, it is adventurous and avant-garde and punk. Yes, it´s a tribute to one of punkrock´s grand old ladies, Vivienne Westwood.

Thank you. :) I guess I´ve got a vivid imagination, but then for me it isn´t hard to describe a perfume when they are really good (or bad).

And a lot of B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful´s perfumes are really something special! :)

Rebella, you have a way of describing scents that makes me think I need to rush out and purchase them right away. LOL! Very nice article! I keep hoping these scents will get distribution outside the UK.
