Rose-scented candles are featured in nearly every home fragrance line, at every price point. You may wonder if there is anything new that can be done with them. After a pleasant visit to the Belle Fleur booth at Elements, we confirm the answer to that question is a resounding yes!

The line includes four aromas: Rose Immortelle, Velvet Santal, Pétals D'Amour and Imperial Oudh. All four bouquets are composed with the greatest care and attention to the harmony of ingredients in every composition. Meredith, as a professional florist with a sharp eye and sensitive nose, has added new vibrant tones even to traditional pairings such as rose and sandalwood (Velvet Santal) and rose and oudh (Imperial Oudh). The breathtaking details of the their composition (Imperial Oudh, for example, offers a hint of golden dust, a trace of leather, a puff of smoke, a pleasurable tolu…) and their presentation (Meredith selected unusual, eye-catching bright purple roses for an arrangement) make these four candles memorable among many others at the exhibition.

Juicy fruits and berries, in the right proportions, can create true magic with flowers. They prolong our pleasure from smell to taste and induce different succulent impressions. Consider how similar to rose are the smells of raspberry, plum, currant, apple, even exotic lychee. This mouthwatering kaleidoscope is hidden in one's rose fantasy, and a flame is all we need to reveal it. Meredith is obviously a skilled magician with fruity notes. She added red and black currant to tease our imagination and lift up the scents of Rose Immortelle and Pétales D'Amour, the latter being also equipped with fresh apple and sweet fig.

Velvet Santal is a warm, sweet, slow and lazy rose. Plum provokes us with its explicit desire, while cardamom smoothes down the rose petals and woods invite us to join in the game—a very sensual rose.
But having chosen our favorites, we each have nothing but praise for the remaining three. Rose is the "Queen" amongst flowers, and the aromas of these candles are exquisite enough to scent palaces!
