Byredo Lilla Nygatan No.23 - Fragranced Candle

Ever since the ACNE collective moved into its new abode on Lilla Nygatan 23, this grand 17th Century building has been a recurring influence on the activities of the company. Having a history as both a national bank and a part of the government quarters, Lilla Nygatan 23 sits majestically in the heart of the oldest parts of Stockholm, and has today undergone a major transformation to become a beacon of dynamism with its over 100 ACNE employees.

Inspired by the building’s heavy stone façade, its traditional hardwood floors and the vast and grandiose ballroom that is its crowning glory, ACNE’s Jonny Johansson in collaboration Ben Gorham and BYREDO PARFUMS wanted to create a fragrance that captured the house’s notable past. Together with renowned perfumer Olivia Giacobetti, a regular at all from Diptyque to Guerlain and L’Artisan Parfumeur, the scent Lilla Nygatan 23 is the result, a fragrance that is reminiscent of the building’s distinguished history with traces of cold stone, warm woods and traditional incense.

Opening with Artemisia and peppercorn Lilla Nygatan 23 slowly gives way to a heart of myrrh and incense followed by a backdrop of cedar wood.

Lilla Nygatan 23 is available as a fragranced candle and will be sold exclusively at Barneys New York and ACNE Studios worldwide.
