Coco Before Chanel

According to press releases from Hollywood-a, charming Audrey Tautou acts the famous creator Gabriel Chanel in a movie by French director Anne Fontaine, named Coco before Chanel. Art director of the house of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, controlled costumes. Premiere of the movie will take place on September 15th in Paris.

The movie tells the story of childhood and youth of the future great designer. Gabriel was born in 1883 in a commercial traveler’s family. Her childhood cannot be called carefree, since she lost her mother at an early age, and her father abandoned her soon.

Gabriel learnt how to sew in a catholic orphanage, but her passion did not awake then. She wanted to be a singer. She sang in a cabaret and got her nickname Coco after a song she used to sing Who’s Seen Coco in the Trocadero. Gabriel started to sew costumes for her performance, and it was then that her life got a whole new direction.

Besides, Audrey Tautou became the new face of the famous perfume Chanel No.5 this year.
