Coco and Igor

After the novel "Coco and Igor" by Chris Greenhalgh a new film will appear in spring 2009. The movie is directed by Jan Kounen, and it describes love between famous designer Coco - Gabrielle Chanel and composer Igor Stravinsky, starring Anna Mouglalis as Coco and Mads Mikkelsen as Igor Stravinsky.

Paris, 1913: Coco is in love with rich and handsome captain Arthur Edward Boy Capel, but also focused on her work, since she wants to democratize fashion for women.

In the same time, Igor Stravinsky presents "The Rite of Spring" and tries to redefine taste in music. Coco appeared in a chic dress at the premiere. Music and ballet were criticized as too modern and foreign.

Boy Capel died in a car crash on his motor in 1919, while Coco experienced great success in Paris, but was grieving loss of her companion.

Igor, who was a refugee because of the Russian revolution, moved to live in exile in Paris. Coco and Igor were acquainted by Diaghilev, impresario Ballet Russes. Attraction between the two of them was instantaneous. She invited him, his wife and their four children to stay in her villa Bel Respiro in Garches.

It is worth mentioning that the house of Lalique was in charge of decour of the movie, with "Oak" applications on the wall and decorative ornaments "Coutrard". This is not a coincidence, given that famous virtuous of glasswork, Rene Lalique dedicated his sculpture "Bird of Fire" precisely to Igor Stravinsky in 1922.

An interesting fact is that Anna Mouglalis has been the advertising face for perfume Chanel Allure for the last six years. This perfume was created by Jacques Polge in 1996.
