Diamonds and Star Dust by Solange

Solange Azagury-Partridge was born in 1961 in London, where she lived and studied Spanish and French languages. After she graduated, she accepted a temporary job with London costume jewelry shop Butler & Wilson. She started making jewelry as a hobby, yet very soon, in 1995, she opened a store at Westbourne Grove and her hobby grew into a career.

Solange Ring

Today, her talent is tied to the jewelry house Solange in London, well known for its innovative approach in jewelry making, which uses sculptural and unique pieces of precious stones in various combinations. She designs necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants, all unusual and unique.

The first piece of jewelry Solange made was her engagement ring, because in jewelers' shops she could not find a ready-made ring that she wanted to wear in that special moment of her life. So, she decided to design it herself. She made it in 1987 with a diamond on a simple golden base. After several years of admiration and compliments paid by other people to her engagement ring, she decided to focus her talents on creation and designing of jewelry.

She became the leading designer of her generation. With a great respect towards Boucheron jewelry house where she worked as a creative director for three years, Solange managed to bring a modern touch in the design of Boucheron jewelry by linking up contemporary and traditional. The pieces of jewelry that Solange created for the Boucheron house are among the permanent jewelry exhibition of the Louvre gallery. She named her jewelry collections Platonic, Diamonds, Stoned, kinetic, Enamels, Cosmic, Poison, Zodiac, Random, and Beauties. The collections Diamonds and Zodiac collections are accompanied with two Solange house fragrances.

In 2006 Solange presented her first fragrance – Stoned, a part of the Zodiac collection. Stoned was in 2007 followed by the fragrance Cosmic which is a part of the Platonic jewelry collection. Both fragrances come in gorgeous eye-catching bottles.

Solange Stoned fragrance Stoned is an oriental fragrance captured in a ruby red glass bottle. The attractive bottle design is a mix of contemporary and historical, envisioned to be a real liquid gemstone. What makes it exceptional comparing to the variety of contemporary fragrances, is that the composition of Stoned contains diamond dust.

The creator of the fragrance was Lynn Harris, who created it mysterious, complex, with many facets, just like the gemstones that inspired its creation. It is a heady mix of candy and patchouli, which opens with notes of bergamot combined with classical rose and jasmine absolute. The heart is warm and dark made of labdanum, tree moss, benzoin and heliotrope, which gives it a retro hint. The base notes follow with the Bourbon vanilla and musk notes.

The imbued diamond dust remains and permeates the skin giving a feeling of being perfectly and beautifully bejeweled. The ruby red spherical bottle is glass made with a stopper in a shape of a beautiful goddess of femininity, whose long hairs cover her modesty. Stoned Eau de Parfum is a shiny gem of the Zodiac jewelry collection presented in November 2006.

"Catch a falling star"....

Solange Cosmic fragrance ...or, catch Cosmic, the new fragrance of the Solange jewelry house. Cosmic is exquisite cosmic eau de parfum captured in a sculptural, space-age, geometric designed bottle. It was launched in 2007 as a part of the Platonic, the diamond jewelry collection, presented together with the fragrance. Following on from the oriental composition of diamond dusted Stoned, Cosmic has moved away from the borders of earth into the far corners of the Universe, as it contains stardust – the especially finely ground meteorite. The dominant shape of the futuristic 100ml bottle is five-pointed star shape which appears as facets on all sides.

Its chypre composition opens with notes of bergamot, aldehydes and galbanum. The heart unites jasmine, rose and iris, while the base notes reveal patchouli, vetiver, labdanum, Peru opoponax, myrrh and vanilla. The creator of the fragrance is Lynn Harris.
