
Long expected make up line by Dolce&Gabbana arrives on the market as early as next month. It will be packed in elegant, gold packages, with rounded edges and luxurious, but not extravagant design, as Gabbana says.
Dolce&Gabbana thought on everything, even on olfactive pleasure. Lipsticks have aromas of roses, while mascaras have pepperish notes. They came to the idea of scented makeup thanks to their personal examples and childhood memories, when they used to watch what their mothers had in cosmetic purses, when they opened the boxes and lipsticks and smelled them. The scent will certainly make each product more interesting.
It has also been noticed that almost every woman first smells a new product when she wants to try it. The whole collection was created under Procter&Gamble Prestige Product license, in cooperation with makeup artist Pat McGrath, who participated in formulating and choosing nuances of the collection.
Distribution will be selective, so the first make up collection by Dolce&Gabbana will be available in only 100 stores by 2010. Prices of nail polishes will be around 20 dollars, mascaras 28, lipstick 30, eye shadows 36, while powders will cost 59 dollars. Other categories include bronzing powders, eye and lip pencils and lip glosses. ( WWD)

Am I alone in wondering if a pepper-scented mascara is a good idea?
Scarlett Johansson is, indeed, beautiful, but must we always have a never ending parade of celebrities pretending to be Marilyn Monroe? I'd have preferred a more cutting-edge & unique ad campaign. I know, I'm far too picky. ;)
Those are some trumped-up prices. I'd love to try these but who in this current recessional market can afford them (besides the rich and famous)? I'm totally unimpressed.
