Eau de Rochas Celebrates 40 Years of Existence

Perfumer Jean Michel Duriez says the following about Eau de Rochas: "I consider Eau de Rochas as the most vibrant and mineral freshness. Its secret comes from the balance between very fresh but moderately acidic citrus notes and a very rich floral heart. The drydown vibrates in a delicately woody and ambery accord."

Eau de Rochas was created by perfumer Nicolas Mamounas. The very beginning of this composition opens with bergamot oil, mandarin oil and lemon oil. This citrusy veil of notes is supported by accords of daffodil absolute, jasmine and lily of the valley, combined with a mild and very elegant dirty note of patchouli resting in the base together with musk, moss oil extract and olibanum extract.

This luxurious balance of citruses, cold floral nuances, patchouli, moss and olibanum is still rated highly among fans of citrusy-aromatic fragrances. Assortment of Eau de Rochas offers a whole range of options for those who prefer this fragrance. An accompanying body care program includes a 150 ml deodorant, a 500 ml body lotion and a 500 ml shower gel.

Eau de Rochas, which has been following many women worldwide for 40 years while leaving a refreshing and aristocratic trace, has received a brand new dimension with this manifestation. 80 women will be chosen in the first round, on February 14, 2010, but only 40 of them will be chosen in the finals, to show their varieties, personality, style and emotions. The intention is to depict a wide range of ages, styles and energies which are connected by the cult perfume Eau de Rochas!

40 luckiest women can expect two photo sessions in Paris from February 26 to March 1, 2010 and from March 8 to March 10, 2010. The photos will be made by Kate Barry, a famous portrait photographer. As the crown of the whole campaign, an exhibition will take place in Paris, where photos of the above women will be displayed. On top of that, celebrations to mark the birthday of Eau de Rochas will be held in famous French perfumeries.

It is important to point out that after Eau de Rochas for women from 1970, its masculine companion Eau de Rochas Homme was presented, as well as new, youthful successors - Reflects d'Eau Rochas from 2006 and feminine Eau Sensuelle from 2009, created by Jean-Michel Duriez.
