Estee Lauder Solid Perfumes – Magic That Never Ends

Since 1967, each year the Estee Lauder house has some surprise for those which like a rare, precious and unusual sort of fragrance – solid perfume.

Roselyn Gerson wrote the first book on this topic which included not only Estee Lauder solid perfumes compacts, but all compact editions – Ladies' Compacts of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries, Vintage Vanity Bags Purses, Vintage Ladies' Compacts, Vintage Contemporary Purse Accessories, Vintage Vogue Ladies' Compacts, Second Edition, and The Estee Lauder Solid Perfume Compact Collection - from 1967 to 2001. The book is aimed at all solid perfumes compacts lovers, but also to all those who enjoy the art.

The cooperation of Roselyn Gerson and Estee Lauder House resulted in documenting all the solid perfume compacts of this house in a way which includes large full-color photographs and all data about designers, designs, shapes, etc. Besides, the Vice President of the Estee Lauder house, Deborah Krulewitch, gave a significant contribution to the Roselyn Gerson's book The Estee Lauder Solid Perfume Compact Collection 1967-2001.

Back in 1971 Estee Lauder launched Sunshine Azuree Estee Lauder Solid Perfume as necklace pendant and Seashell solid perfume, also in a form of chain pendant. For that edition, the solid form was given to Youth Dew.

In 1988 the attention is caught by Pleasures in solid form in a beautiful compact named Bouquet. This compact has very high value due to material that was used, gold, and for its design and the way it was made, and thus is very much wanted and expensive.

With years, Estee Lauder house was launching solid perfumes compacts in various shapes – cats, birds, buildings, turtles... In 1990's animal forms were the most popular – in 1995 Turtle White Linen solid edition, while the precious small elephant bejeweled with gemstones and named Bejeweled Elephant Beautiful Estee Lauder Solid Perfume Compact was launched in 2005.

In 2001 the compact comes in a shape of Magical Unicorn. The beautifully designed compact was filled with solid perfume Intuition. The year 2002 was marked with golden Pegasus also filled with Intuition.

Birds often come as an inspiration for design of compacts. Gracious Precious Peacock was launched in 2003, filled with Pleasures. The year 2005 brings bejeweled rooster, created in cooperation with Judith Leiber, prestigious and renowned designer of handbags, exclusive evening purses, jewelry, perfumes and accessories. This compact was named Bejeweled Rooster and was filled with Intuition Estee Lauder solid perfume.

The year 2006 brings a beautiful humming bird called Fluttering Hummingbird, filled with Pleasures. This compact was adorned with amethyst gemstones placed on the bird's head, neck, wings and tail.

The new editions which have become real miniature construction enterprises are also very interesting. In 2003 the solid perfume version of the fragrance Beautiful was captured in gold and silver molded Taj Mahal, while in 2006 the solid version of Beyond Paradise came in Eiffel Tower.

The edition created in honor of 50th anniversary of the Estee Lauder solid perfumes compacts named Double Cameo Youth Dew 50th Anniversary Solid Perfume Compact Estee Lauder. It was presented in 2003 and comes filled with Youth Dew solid perfume.

I would like to mention that Estee Lauder house has already presented this year's solid perfume edition. As this year lights are pointed towards China, the oriental motif was used by Estee Lauder house designers as well.

Orient in Estee Lauder style is this time coming in a form of the magnificent Great Wall of China. The container is filled with Intuition solid perfume and can be found at the Neiman Marcus official web site. This deluxe holiday's edition, gold-colored with ruby-red crystals, is fully worth attention and admiration. The price of this edition is US$275.

Such beautifully designed and decorated solid perfumes compacts simply allure a gracious and tender woman's hand to open them and touch the sensual fragrant notes captured inside.
