Fragrant Touch of Orient

09/20/07 17:13:36
This year perfume houses inspired by Asia have presented already mentioned explosive fragrance Tokyo by Kenzo which reflects the spirit of Japan, full of positive energy; and feminine floral-woody-musky fragrance Zen by Shiseido that also captures the smells of Orient and is inspired by Japanese tea room. Due to the incoming Olympic Games 2008 in China, this huge country gets more of the deserved attention through inspirations and creations of perfumes.

When thinking of China, the first notions are those of the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Great Wall of China, the ancient Asian civilization with specific tradition and culture, and a thought of the country with the biggest population in the world. China is also well known for its china, silk paintings, opera, architecture with buildings that are still breathtaking, and as a country of origin of Bonsai.
This big country offers inspiration to every visitor and particularly to designers of famous houses, which draw fantastic ideas out of such a nature, culture, and the smell of orient.

The perfume house Parfum d'Empire, introduces us to a small bit of Beijing with one of the three fragrances presented this year in the collection dedicated to the great world's empires – Chinese, Roman and Indian.
Osmanthus Inderite, a fragrance for women, is one of this trilogy. It reflects richness, luxury, tranquility and scents of the gardens of Forbidden City. It reveals floral-fruity notes of green tea, rose, osmanthus, jasmine, leather and musk. It comes as EDP in 100ml bottles.

After this year's limited editions for women, Opium Orchidee de Chine, and for men, Opium Pour Homme Eau d`Orient 2007, already presented here, YSL is still inspired by the charm of oriental notes that lead us through China.

Yves Saint Laurent presents a new version of Opium and offers a touch of China in new apparel. The oriental notes take us to a new ad mysterious world of Opium Orient Extreme that comes in a black lacquer box with motifs of Chinese traditional art.

This fragrance presents an explosion of freshly sweet notes of mandarin, orange, bergamot, interlaced with grass and fresh notes of lily of the valley. The heart is ruled by the sweet and intensive accords of jasmine, carnation and spices.

The base caresses with powdery, warm and soft notes of vanilla, amber, patchouli and opoponax resin which brings a sweet, balsamic, honey-like drydown.
It belongs to oriental-spicy olfactive group and will be available as EDT in 75ml bottles.
