Ginestet Botrytis and Sauvignonne – Drops of Perfume with Wine Aromas
Ginestet is a well-known French wine house founded in 1897 in Bordeaux. Its founder is Fernard Ginestet, who also started wine trade. He is the pioneer of the so-called "Interprofession Bordelaise", creating "Estate and Trade Union", which became The Bordeaux Wine Council in 1948. This house counts around 100 employees nowadays, and has been situated in Carignan-de-Bordeaux since 1980. Their work is based on administration consolidation and wine production which possesses Ginestet emblem, both in France and worldwide.
The house of Ginestet developed a line of brands which it presents to the market and fulfills customers' needs. These are Ginestet, French Roots, CAP270 by Ginestet and Marquis de Chasse.
Hundred years of experience in winery and trade brought about ideas on presentation of new aromas, perfume aromas, which will be inspired by scents of wine. Successful work with perfumes was realized with a goal to create balanced notes of wine and to turn them into perfume aromas. The perfumes presented by the house of Ginestet in 2008 are not scents of their wines, but some of the aromas served as inspiration to interpret perfume compositions.
Pleasure is even bigger if I point out that we are talking about primary aromas of Bordeaux wine. The perfumes were created in cooperation with prestigious perfumery Floresence from Grasse. The flow of "metamorphosis" of wine aromas into perfume essences started with choice of three wines by the house of Ginestet, and these are: white dry wine, red wine and third sort, Sauternes – wine from franchiser region of Sauternes from Bordeaux. The three sorts were sent to enological institute of Bordeaux to discover the primary molecules which would be used later in creation of perfume essences in Grasse in cooperation with perfumers.

The presented perfumes were named Botrytis and Sauvignonne.
Botrytis is an intoxicating, feminine fragrance which introduces rich, honey, sweet aromas. It was named after Brotytis cinerea – a fungus which helps sugar concentration in grapes to turn into sweet white wine. The perfume notes include honey, candied fruit, quince, pain d’epice (similar to gingerbread), bouquet of white flowers and hot amber.
Sauvignonne is an irresistible classic, which is light and fruity. It was named after a variation of Sauvignon white wine from Bordeaux. The perfume is composed of sparkling grapefruit with box-tree and accords of juicy peach. It is characterized as a delicate fragrance dominated by bitterness with an explosion of freshness.
Both perfumes are available as 100 ml EDT in beautiful bottles decorated with vine leaf on its top, tucked in black and brown linen costumes.
