Give me a flower!

We’re just a day away from February 14, and many of us are having troubles with solving the Valentine’s Day gift dilemma. In addition to candies and greeting cards printed with the most beautiful words and sentiments, perfume can be one of those offerings capable if expressing all of our unspoken feelings in its aromatic droplets. Today I chose something very feminine, in full bloom, bright and gentle, something that is most suitable for idyllic and romantic moments full of bliss and happiness.

Perfume.com has approached us and offered us a site-wide discount of 10%, use FRAGRANTICA at checkout, and 20% for Marc Jacobs fragrances above (Daisy Pop Art and Daisy Eau so Fresh)

Give her a Daisy, a flower that opens its petals to the first morning sun, and closes them at dusk. Why choose this lovely flower? Daisy is a symbol of innocence and tenderness, associated with the love game He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, in which we pick petals off a flower to determine if our loved one returns the affection or not.
A Roman legend speaks about the nymph Belides (the Latin word for Daisy is Bellis Perenis) who caught the eye of Vermuntus, the god of the orchards. He noticed Belides while she was dancing with all other nymphs on the edge of the woods, and he wanted to have her all for himself. However, Belides didn’t want to be in the center of anyone’s attention, so she turned into a flower Belis—a Daisy. Her free spirit continues to flourish even today.

The blossom of a Daisy was a great source of inspiration to the designer Marc Jacobs, who made a whole collection honoring this flower. Till the present moment, he has issued eight different editions, including limited ones, painted in different colors.

The first scent—Daisy—was launched in 2007, and followed by limited editions in other colors that come with different kinds of flacons and flowers that adorn the stopper. I’ll highlight only my favorite editions, but equally I find the rest of the collection perfectly appropriate as a gift for that special someone.

The most attractive release is certainly Daisy Pop Art, distinguished by the red flacon with a gold-colored cap and black petals. The color of love, and color of Valentine’s Day, would be perfectly symbolized with this bottle.

The composition is very feminine and refined. It delivers temptation in the top notes, sparkling with bright citruses and green violet petals along with sweet and sensual strawberries. The heart highlights the elegant blend of gardenia, jasmine and violet, laid on the base of sandalwood, musk and woody notes.

The second edition from the same Daisy collection by Marc Jacobs is the newest fragrance Daisy Eau So Fresh, which is designed for younger girls. The composition of this fragrance reflects freshness and youth in the top notes (red grapefruit, pear, green leaves, and raspberry), the heart offers a bouquet of violets, jasmine, rose, and apple blossom, sprinkled with tiny drops of litchi fruit. The base notes are woven from plum, musk and sandalwood. Both releases are only a part of a large floral bouquet that you can chose for your beloved one.
