The first fragrance Halle by Halle Berry thrilled all fans of this popular actress and it met the expectations of numerous perfume fans. For all those who prefer oriental-gourmand fragrances with accentuated fruity and woody notes Halle by Halle Berry is true pleasure. Opening notes, which are thick and fruity, intoxicate like tasty fruity marmalade softened with fig leaves and citrusy notes. Aim of this pleasant composition is achieved – the golden yellow edition warms the skin just like warm rays of sun, encouraging relaxation and giving over to beautiful notes…

The new fragrance introduces a fragrant turn and offers intoxicating, opulent, floral nuances enriched with precious exotic aromas of fruit. Halle Pure Orchid opens with fresh, luminous sparkles of Italian lemon, papaya nectar and unusual cactus blossom from the jungle... A heart opens with Masdevallia orchid surrounded with blackberry cream and star anise which leaves cold aromas of peppermint. A base is rich and warm, created of sequoia wood, patchouli leaves and Tonka. Creators of the fragrance come from the house of Givaudan - Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Christophe Raynaud.

Halle Berry Pure Orchid

Flacon of Halle Pure Orchid is a reinterpretation of the first fragrance Halle which is radiant with golden yellow liquid in glass flacon with engraved waves, while neck of the flacon is decorated with a metallic detail coloured in pink gold nuance. Purple glass of the new flacon suggests romantic zest it captures, while its neck is decorated with silver metal details. The flacon was created by Jane Tarallo.

The fragrance is available as 15 ml and 30 ml EDP limited edition. Advertising face is exotic beauty Halle Berry. (WWD)

Doc Elly

The name "Pure Orchid" caught my eye because I grow orchids and enjoy the fragrances of many species. But ... wait a minute ... "A heart opens with Masdevallia orchid"? Please! Grammar aside, has Halle or her buddies at Givaudan ever smelled a real live Masdevallia orchid? The ones that actually have an odor smell like rotten meat. I could go into more detail because Masdevallia may also have some other unmentionable notes in their scent, but rotten meat is the main theme. Lord only knows what the "unusual cactus blossom" smells like.

The verbal description of the scent is as appalling as the whole concept - Masdevallia with "blackberry creme and star anise which leaves cold aromas of peppermint". How can blackberry and star anise leave an aroma of peppermint?

I have little doubt that this liquid smells every bit as bad as it sounds. I might even have to make a special, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Wal-Mart to find out.
