House of Bergduft: fresh wind from Swiss Alps

Bergduft is a niche perfume house founded in 2007 in Switzerland by Brigitte Witschi and inspired by the wild natural beauty of the Swiss Alps. Three Bergduft perfumes are devoted to a certain wild flower from Swiss Alps and named in German: Edelweiss, Alpine Rose and Blauer Enzian (Blue Gentian).

The first fragrance Brigitte made was an homage to the unofficial symbol of Switzerland, a white mountain flower— Edelweiss. Edelweiss is a warm woody floral fragrance with a fresh fruity beginning, a "white" spicy heart and comporting nuances of sweet vanilla and tonka beans in the base. The composition reveals the softness of petals of the real flower, their kitten paw touch, their strange exotic star shape—the tenderness and softness itself.
Alpine Rose is the second fragrance of Bergduft. It smells of freshly picked wild roses that brighten the wild mountain landscape of the  Swiss Alps with their flaming-pink flowers. Brigitte realized this romantic picture with sharply fresh nuances of roses in the heart, green at the beginning (green leaves) and soft and powdery in the final notes (sandalwood). The rose under the high blue sky.

Blauer Enzian (Blue Gentian) is the latest fragrance by Bergduft introduced recently, in 2009. Blue Gentian is the scent of the bright blue sky reflected in the tiny blue flowers growing on barren rocks. How small they are, yet strong in their desire for life in the highland of the Swiss Alps! They smile at you like cheerful blue eyes celebrating the new beginning, the Spring! Brigitte chose plenty of different fresh, green, watery nuances to capture the purity of the blue color, the crispness of the sky and the joy of every wild plant that feels juices of wakening life in its veins. Exotic fruits and notes of fresh water foregoes the fruity floral heart of osmanthus rounded with green leaves. The composition is settled on the absolutely weghtless base of sandal.

Every Bergduft fragrance also exists as a small sachet for your clothes, bedding or whatever you wish to be delicately scented with one of three Bergduft flowers.

The House of Bergduft will give away three bottles (Edelweiss, Alpine Rose and Blauer Enzian) to three Fragrantica readers. As usual, we will choose winners after reading your reviews.

I see this is a new line for you guys ;o)

I visited Switzerland only once, ten years (OMG!) ago, I lived in mountains for two weeks, and saw flowers, crystals, their funny cows (they woke us up at the dawn)! I understand Brigitte absolutely ;o)

I like Edelweiss, the flower is so velvety soft, I touched it in the sachet. When I saw the flower it seemed to be dry, and I expected a dusty dry herbaceous composition. But when I touched it, I understood why Brigitte has chosen the warm even oriental theme. I don't know does it smell in nature or not. If not it's even more interesting to imagine it.
