Hugo by Hugo Boss was presented in 1995 in cooperation with perfumer Bob Aliano as a fresh masculine fragrance for younger population which is looking for special notes and unique style. Top notes introduce fresh, luminous grapefruit aromas mixed with green apple, mint and aromatic lavender. A heart encompasses floral aromas and a hint of spices – carnation, sage, geranium and cloves. Base notes feature patchouli, pine needles, vetiver, cedar and musk. The first edition from 1995 was designed by Petter Schmitt.

This fragrance received several limited editions; Hugo Spray, limited flacon from 2008 inspired by graffiti art. Hugo Boss launched Hugo Create Limited Edition the same year. Its design was chosen as the best in a prize contest in painting flacons.
New edition Hugo by Karim Rashid is also limited, available as 100 ml, in only 1000 pieces. The new modern and unique flacon is coloured in white, yellow, turquoise and black nuances. The design illustrates Karim Rashid’s personal experience and vision of Hugo's fragrance for men. Hugo Boss Hugo by Karim Rashid has been on the market since 2009.
