Interview with HRH Princess Elizabeth

HRH Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia created her first fragrance "E" in 2002. Soon after the first, her second fragrance was launched, named after her - "Jelisaveta". The gorgeous aristocratic fragrances immediately caught the attention of perfume lovers and got positive reviews from critics.

HRH Princess Elizabeth has kindly agreed to share her fragrant memories and thoughts with the readers of Fragrantica.com and to tell us more about creation of her own fragrances. Now, we have the pleasure of presenting the words of HRH Princess Elizabeth:

I have always loved delicious perfumes ever since I was a child. I even liked the smell of Lux soap so much I used to eat it in the bath when I was seven years old.

I remember a family friend in South Africa called Irina Obolensky who wore Prince Matchabelli (niche perfume line established in 1926. - Fragrantica) and whenever I smelled it I thought of her. She was such a sweet and kind lady and gave me my first transistor radio when I was eleven.
Later the flowers in my grandmother's garden in Athens were so fragrant and whenever I smelled gardenias and orange blossom I thought of her.

In my teens I dreamed of creating a perfume that incorporated all the white flowers in my grandmother's garden and in fact having a garden of my own one day, with only sweet smelling white flowers.

Much later, Merv Griffin the late TV host and creator of Wheel of Fortune helped me to realize my dream so I went to IFF in New York City (International Flavours and Fragrances) and there, the great Sophia Grojsman helped me compose the fragrances I liked. The first one was E and the second one Jelisaveta. It was fun working with her and adding and deleting drops of this and that until it was what I wanted. The third one is ready to be launched and is called "Violet Fire".
I hope this one will be out soon.

I believe every woman should feel good about herself and feel like a princess. When a woman is happy she spreads joy around her and the family benefits. After all, happiness begins at home.
