Jean-Michel Duriez was Named Perfumer of the House of Rochas

The house of Rochas has hired famous perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez as exclusive perfumer of this house. Duriez will continue being perfumer of the house of Jean Patou, where he has worked for the last 10 years. Both houses are owned by Procter & Gamble Prestige Beauty.

The most famous perfumes created by Jean- Michael Duriez are:

Enjoy (2003),
Sira des Indes (2006),
Un Amour de Patou (1998),
Pan Ame (2001),
Nacre (2001),
Hip (2001),
Coming Up Roses (2008) for Jean Patou,
Yohji Homme (1999) and
Yohji Essential (1998) for creator Yohji Yamomoto.

Besides perfumes, this house will, after a short break, start producing pret-a-porter clothes and fashion accessories from spring again.

Congratulations to Mssr. Duriez and Maison Rochas! Let us be hopeful Jean-Michel will create perfumes for the house equal to their classics, such as Femme, Madame Rochas, and the more recent Mystere, all aptly named. Rochas has been somewhat neglected since their flush of glory after Femme's huge success faded in the 70's when different genres of perfume began to emerge, leaning more to the 'natural' theme of the times...
