Jennifer Lopez launches a new fragrance named Glowing in the spring of 2012, representing a kind of continuation of the theme of the debut Glow from 2002. Glowing is actually an homage to Glow.
“Glowing is such a clean fragrance. That’s what I’ve always been about. I like soapy, clean smells. This is a very woodsy scent. So it’s not exactly what I created 10 years ago—it’s the evolution of that. At the essence, it’s still natural, earthy, clean and real, but a little different side of that. It’s the woodsy side of it, which I think is kind of New York-y, darker and sexier,” said Jennifer Lopez to wwd.
The floral-woody-ambery composition is created by Calice Becker and Caroline Sabas of Givaudan. The top notes are fresh due to bergamot, mandarin and cypress. The heart includes accords of orange blossom, lily of the valley and cassia flower. Woody notes of sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli in the base are fused with tones of cashmere musk, vanilla and sultan amber. Lopez explained the slightly lavender color of the fragrant liquid by the fact that the fragrance contains a trace of violet in it.
Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, cypress
Heart: orange blossom, lily of the valley, cassia flower, violet
Base: sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, musk, amber, vanilla

The advertising campaign was shot by Solve Sundsbø. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum with 200 ml body lotion. Atomizers of the 50 and 75 ml bottles light up for 15 seconds after pressing.

soapy, clean smelling = darker, sexier ?
I dont get it...
the bottle isn't too bad I suppose but it lacks imagination. Maybe she used up all her ideas with the other 50 of her previous fragrances.
Thank for the article, Sanja! :)
While I'm not jumping up and down about this release, I do think that the concept of an illuminated bottle is pretty cool.
oh, how i loathe miss lopez. but she sure is a successfully shameless self-promoter, sorry, "business" person. that's the best i can say. we've sufferred her stenches for ten years too long and i so wish she'd glow away for good.
Omg you're perfumes are boring and cheap. Bugger off already. It's just a quick money grab she's after. There's no unique, engaging or relevant olfactory concept here. gah!
I'll try this one for sure. Not crazy about the bottle either - her others are a bit of a step up, but since the notes sound pretty great I'll give it a try when I can find it. I love Miami Glow and have worn Glow since it's launch. Overall I think her scents are good for celebrity inspired perfumes. And one side note - I'm so glad she isn't naming her scents after herself like so many designers do!
what is up with the cheap looking bottle!? ugly! The notes sound nice though.
I happen to like most of J.Lo's concoctions. I'm a bit hopeful due to the fact that Calice Becker is involved; she's created some of my all-time favorite fragrances. I'm apprehensive of Caroline Sabas' involvement in this but I do adore Miami Glow so I'll hold out some hope here.
This sounds really nice. Look forward to trying, and the ad campaign? damn girl! ;]
Eaux de parfum in three sizes - 1 oz. for $39, 1.7 oz. for $49 and 2.5 oz. for $65 - will be sold. The 1.7-oz and 2.5-oz. sizes light up for 15 seconds when the atomizer is pressed, "in homage to Glow," explained Lopez. The juice has a faint lavender tint, "because there's a tiny hint of violet in it," she added. A 6.7-oz. body lotion, $27.50, will also be offered.
In the U.S., Glowing is a Kohl's exclusive from its May launch; it will begin overseas distribution in a to-be-determined number of doors in July
What a desperate ad! Now that her career is in the dumps, she's really milking it for what it's worth with these never-ending fragrance releases. Some are well made, but I'm not buying anything that carries the name of a person that doesn't care about animal rights on the bottle.
Oy!..This is what like her 40th perfume... she seriously needs to slow down what is she shooting for an award for most fragrances by a star...news flash your already well in the lead...there starting to slowly smell like bleh.. I didn't like her love & glamour I didn't even know there was a love & light she has Eau to Glow to represent a continuation why does she needs this one?!, the notes sound nice but the bottle looks super cheap, I like j.lo but Im sorry but I had to say it give people the chance to enjoy the other fragrances before 5 more are produced in its place...this to me is like a cheap cry to receive more & more money && j.lo baby your better then that.
Yeah what is with that bottle?! Bummer. But the notes sound GREAT! : )
I hope the evil patchouli doesn't ruin it!!"
I wasn't a huge fan of Glow, but I adore many of her other frags. I love woody fragrances and the notes in this sound very nice, especially the base notes. I would love to try this.
I don't know how people can say a frgrance is soapy and clean and then say it is darker and sexier. You want to sell to the market that likes squeaky/clean but also the market that likes dark/sexy? That does not make sense to me. That's trying to have your cake of soap and eating it.
Hmmmm,I am very interested in trying since I have the majority of her perfumes!
What????!!! She just like released "Eau De Glow" !!!!
The bottle lights up???? CRAZY! Love the idea of that.
Gimmicky bottle aside, the notes look pretty good. :-)
yes, bottle looks cheap :S
CANNOT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAITTTTTTTTTTTT! I'm gonna have to see the bottle in person because it's lookin' a tad on the cheap side
