This year (2008) Kenzo is celebrating 20 years of its existence as a fragrance house. The first fragrance, Kenzo which had already been successfully working as a fashion house for almost a decade, launched in 1988. The first fragrance was the fragrance for women Kenzo created by Francoise Caron, and Serge Mansau who designed the bottle.

In his interview to Lexpress.fr , Kenzo Takada, the founder of the Kenzo house, said that the bottle design was born spontaneously in Serge Mansau's workshop, literally within half an hour, while he and Mansau were placing a peony flower on a stone, because the fragrance was floral.

The new anniversary edition which is limited, Kenzo Vintage Edition, is captured in a particularly simple dark purple bottle with a symbol 'Peace and Love' on it, devoted to the 1970s epoch, the time when the first Kenzo boutique was opened – Jungle Jap.

What is known about the new fragrance is that it includes notes of mandarin, vanilla, Tonka, cedar, heliotrope and musk. The bottle comes in 100ml (3.4 fl.oz.) size and will retail at approximately €60.

Outer boxes come in four different designs with psychedelic motifs and Flower Power symbols.
